Man, what a day! I woke up in Mangalia, and I swear, I thought I was still dreaming. The sun was blasting through my window like it was auditioning for a role in a summer blockbuster. I rolled outta bed, grabbed my sketchbook, and hit the streets. First stop? Strada 1 Decembrie. It’s like the main artery of this place. I’m walking, and the vibe is just... electric. People everywhere, chatting, laughing, and I’m just soaking it all in. I mean, who wouldn’t love the sound of seagulls squawking like they own the place? But then, bam! I step in some dog poop. Ugh! Seriously? I’m like, “C’mon, people! Clean up after your pets!” I was fuming. I mean, I’m a texture artist, not a poop artist! Anyway, I wiped my shoe on the curb and kept going. I hit up the beach next. Mangalia’s got this killer coastline. The waves were crashing, and I could smell the salty air. It was like a breath of fresh life. I plopped down on the sand, sketchbook in hand, and started doodling. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, kicking a ball. He trips, and the ball goes flying right into my face! I’m like, “Dude, what’s your problem?” But then he just laughs and runs off. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Kids, man. They’re wild. After that, I strolled down Strada Mării. It’s lined with cafes and shops. I stopped at this little joint called “La Căpitan.” Best coffee ever! I ordered a cappuccino, and it was like a hug in a mug. Seriously, I could’ve lived off that stuff. But then, I overheard this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I’m just trying to enjoy my coffee, and they’re throwing around words like “divorce” and “custody.” I mean, c’mon! Can’t you take that drama somewhere else? I was ready to throw my cup at them. After my caffeine fix, I wandered over to the Mangalia Marina. Boats everywhere! I love the water. It’s calming. I sat on a bench, watching the boats bobbing up and down. It’s like they’re dancing. I started sketching again, lost in my thoughts. Then, I got a text from my buddy. He was like, “Yo, let’s hit the market!” So, I hustled over to the Mangalia Market. It’s a riot! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all these local goodies. I grabbed some cherries. They were so sweet, I thought I was eating candy. But then, I saw this guy trying to haggle over a watermelon. Like, dude, it’s a watermelon, not a car! I was cracking up. The vendor was having none of it. “Five lei or nothing!” Classic Mangalia moment. As the sun started to set, I made my way to the beach again. The sky was on fire with colors. I felt this wave of happiness wash over me. I mean, how can you not love this place? Mangalia’s got this charm that just pulls you in. But then, I realized I lost my sketchbook! Panic mode activated! I retraced my steps, heart racing. I was about to lose it. I checked La Căpitan, the marina, everywhere! Finally, I found it on that bench. Phew! I hugged it like it was my long-lost child. By the end of the day, I was exhausted but happy. Mangalia, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Just hope it doesn’t involve any more dog poop!
