Man, what a day! I swear, being a telephone operator in Orastie is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” LOL, boy was I wrong! First call comes in at 8 AM. It’s some dude from Strada 1 Decembrie. He’s all panicky, like, “My cat’s stuck in a tree!” I’m like, “Bro, call the fire department, not me!” But no, he insists. I mean, c’mon, it’s just a cat! But I get it, pets are family. So, I patch him through. Then, I get another call. This time, it’s a lady from Strada Mihai Viteazul. She’s screaming about a pothole. Like, seriously? A pothole? I’m thinking, “Lady, we got bigger problems!” But she’s going on and on. I’m just sitting there, rolling my eyes. Orastie’s potholes are legendary, but this one? It’s just a dip! By 10 AM, I’m already over it. I grab my coffee from that little café on Strada Horea. Best coffee in town, no joke. I take a sip, and it’s like heaven. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking coffee stain. Back at my desk, the phone rings again. It’s a guy from Strada Avram Iancu. He’s lost his wallet. I’m like, “Dude, retrace your steps!” But he’s all frantic. I mean, Orastie’s not that big! Just walk around! But no, he wants me to help him find it. I’m not a detective, man! Around noon, I finally get a break. I step outside for some fresh air. The sun’s out, and I see kids playing in the park near Strada Tineretului. They’re laughing, having a blast. I can’t help but smile. It’s moments like this that make the chaos worth it. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Alex. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe this!” I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, there’s a street fair happening on Strada Libertății. I’m like, “Why didn’t I know about this?” So, I’m torn. Work or fair? Work wins, of course. Ugh! The afternoon drags on. More calls. More complaints. A lady from Strada Călărași is mad about the noise from the construction site. I’m like, “Welcome to Orastie, lady!” But she’s not having it. I can’t blame her, though. That site’s been a nightmare for weeks. Finally, it’s 5 PM. I’m done! I rush out, ready to hit that street fair. I get there, and it’s packed! Food stalls, music, people everywhere. I grab a langos, and it’s the best thing ever. I’m munching away, feeling like a king. But then, I see a clown. A freakin’ clown! I’m not a fan of clowns, man. They creep me out. But this one? He’s juggling and making kids laugh. I can’t help but chuckle. Maybe clowns aren’t so bad after all? As the sun sets, I’m walking home, thinking about my crazy day. Orastie’s got its quirks, for sure. But it’s home. I love it, even with the potholes and the clowns. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Orastie!
