Man, today was a wild ride in Podu-Iloaiei! Like, seriously, I didn’t expect half the stuff that went down. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m heading down Strada Principala, and I see this old lady trying to cross the street. She’s moving like a turtle on a lazy day. I’m thinking, “C’mon, lady, you got this!” But then, outta nowhere, a car zooms by. I swear, it was like a scene from a movie. I almost yelled, “Hey, slow down, Speed Racer!” But I just signed to her, “Wait!” She looked at me like I was a superhero or something. Made my day, honestly. Then, I get to the market on Strada 1 Decembrie. Man, the vibe there is always buzzing! Fresh veggies, fruits, and the smell of baked goods. I’m drooling just thinking about it. I grab some plums—best in the area, no cap. But then, I see this dude trying to haggle over a loaf of bread. Like, bro, it’s just bread! It’s not gold! I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who haggles for bread? After that, I had a translation gig at the community center. It was a workshop for deaf kids. Super cool, right? But lemme tell ya, those kids have more energy than a pack of puppies! They were all over the place, signing like their lives depended on it. I was trying to keep up, but my brain was like, “Dude, slow down!” One kid, I swear, was signing so fast, I thought he was casting a spell or something. But then, this one kid, Alex, he signs something that just hit me. He said, “I want to be heard.” Like, wow. That hit hard. I mean, here I am, just translating, but these kids want to express themselves. It made me realize how important my job is. I got a bit emotional, ngl. After the workshop, I’m walking back down Strada Tineretului, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually pretty good! I stop to listen, and suddenly, a crowd forms. People are clapping, and I’m just vibing. But then, this guy in a suit walks by and yells, “Get a real job!” Like, dude, chill! Not everyone wants to sit in an office all day. I wanted to sign back at him, “You’re missing out on life, bro!” By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. I plopped down on my couch, thinking about the day. Podu-Iloaiei is such a mix of chaos and beauty. The streets, the people, the little moments that make you smile. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of drama. Just another day in Podu-Iloaiei, I guess!
