Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Poienile-de-sub-Munte is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on Strada Principală, coffee in hand, thinking it’s gonna be a chill day. Spoiler alert: it was NOT. First off, I get a call about a dog named Max. Poor dude got into some trouble with a porcupine. Yeah, you heard that right. A freakin’ porcupine! I’m like, “Dude, how do you even manage that?” Anyway, I rush over to the owner’s place on Strada Muncii. Max is there, looking all sad with quills sticking outta his snout. I mean, come on, buddy! What were you thinking? So, I start pulling out the quills, and let me tell ya, it’s like trying to untangle a bunch of Christmas lights. Max is yelping, I’m sweating, and the owner is just standing there, looking horrified. I’m like, “Relax, it’s just a little prick!” But inside, I’m like, “Why do I do this to myself?” After that, I get a call about a cat named Whiskers. Classic name, right? Whiskers is stuck in a tree on Strada Florilor. I mean, c’mon! Cats are supposed to climb, not get stuck! So, I grab my ladder and head over. The whole neighborhood is watching. I feel like I’m in a reality show. “Vet vs. Cat: The Ultimate Showdown.” I finally get up there, and Whiskers is just chillin’, looking down at me like, “What’s the big deal?” I’m like, “Dude, you’re the one stuck!” After some coaxing with treats, I finally get him down. The crowd goes wild! I’m feeling like a hero, but then I trip on the way down. Classic me, right? Then, I get back to the clinic, and my phone blows up. It’s a bunch of messages from my buddy, who’s been trying to convince me to go hiking in the Rodna Mountains. I’m like, “Dude, I just saved a dog from a porcupine and a cat from a tree. I’m not ready for a mountain!” But he’s persistent. Later, I get a call about a rabbit. Yeah, a rabbit! This one’s named Fluffy, and he’s got a toothache. I’m like, “Seriously? A rabbit with a toothache?” So, I head over to Strada Tineretului. The owner is this sweet old lady who’s worried sick. I mean, who knew rabbits could be so dramatic? After a long day, I finally sit down for a break. I grab a bite at that little café on Strada Călin. You know the one? The one with the best sarmale in town. I’m scarfing down food, thinking about how wild today was. I mean, who knew Poienile-de-sub-Munte could be so full of surprises? But then, I get a call about a parrot. A PARROT! I’m like, “What’s next? A snake?” I can’t even. I’m exhausted, but I can’t say no. So, I head out again, thinking about how I need a vacation. Maybe I’ll finally go hiking in the Rodna Mountains. Or maybe I’ll just sleep for a week. Anyway, that’s my day. Full of drama, laughter, and a whole lotta love for these furry (and feathered) friends. Poienile-de-sub-Munte, you never cease to amaze me!
