Man, what a day! I swear, Salonta really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m just chillin’ at my usual spot on Strada 1 Decembrie, right? Just me and my charcoal, minding my own business. The sun’s out, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna be a good day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m tryin’ to get my charcoal game on point, right? I’m all about that perfect burn. But then, outta nowhere, this dude rolls up on a bike. Like, a fancy one, not the rusty old thing I used to ride. He’s all like, “Hey man, you got any spare change?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m a charcoal burner, not a bank!” But he just stares at me, like I’m supposed to feel sorry for him or something. Ugh, it’s Salonta, not a charity event! So, I brush him off and head over to the market on Strada Libertății. I’m hopin’ to grab some fresh veggies, you know? Gotta eat healthy when you’re burnin’ charcoal all day. But the market? Packed! Like, sardines in a can packed. I’m dodging people left and right, and this old lady bumps into me. She’s like, “Watch where you’re going!” I’m thinkin’, “Lady, you’re the one who needs to watch it!” But I just smile and nod. Gotta keep the peace, right? Finally, I snag some tomatoes and peppers. I’m feelin’ good, like I’m on top of the world. But then, I step outside, and bam! It starts pouring. I mean, seriously? It’s like the sky just opened up. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m standin’ there, lookin’ like a drowned rat, and I can’t help but laugh. Only in Salonta, man. Only here. So, I duck into a café on Strada Mihai Viteazul. I’m like, “Gimme the strongest coffee you got!” I need it after this crazy day. I sit down, and this guy next to me starts talkin’ about the football match last night. Apparently, Salonta’s team lost. He’s all bummed out, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a game!” But he’s passionate, you know? I respect that. After my coffee, I’m feelin’ a bit better. I head back to my spot, but guess what? My charcoal stash is gone! Like, poof! I’m fumin’. Who steals charcoal? I mean, come on! I’m lookin’ around, and I see this kid runnin’ off with my stuff. I’m like, “Hey! Get back here!” But he’s too fast. I’m just standin’ there, hands on my hips, feelin’ like a cartoon character. But then, something cool happens. This old man, Mr. Popescu, who lives down the street, sees me all worked up. He’s like, “Don’t worry, I’ll help you.” And he does! We chase that kid down Strada Călărași, and I’m thinkin’, “This is ridiculous!” But we finally catch him, and Mr. Popescu talks to him. Turns out, the kid just wanted to help his family. I mean, I get it, but still! So, I give the kid a lecture about hard work. I’m like, “You wanna earn it, not steal it!” And he nods, looking all guilty. I let him keep a little charcoal, just enough to help out. I’m feelin’ like a hero, you know? By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I stroll back home, takin’ in the sights of Salonta. The old buildings, the people, the vibe. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. I think about how wild today was. From the market madness to the rain and the kid. Just another day in Salonta, I guess. I plop down on my couch, ready to crash. But I can’t help but smile. Life’s a rollercoaster, and I’m just hangin’ on for the ride. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen next?
