Man, what a day! I swear, being an insurance investigator in Sanpetru-Mare is like being in a soap opera. Seriously, I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. Boy, was I wrong! First off, I hit the road on Strada Principală, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Hey, maybe today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Not even close. I was cruising past the old church, you know, the one with the crazy architecture that looks like it’s been through a war or two. I love that place, but it gives me the creeps sometimes. Anyway, I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “We got a case on Strada Tineretului.” Great, just great. So I zoom over there, and what do I find? A car accident. Not just any accident, but a total mess. Two cars smashed up like they were in a demolition derby. I’m talking airbags deployed, glass everywhere. I’m thinking, “This is gonna be a nightmare.” I start taking notes, and this lady comes up to me, all frantic. She’s like, “My cat was in the car!” I’m like, “Lady, your cat? We got bigger fish to fry here!” But she’s crying, and I can’t help but feel for her. I mean, who wouldn’t be upset about their fur baby? After calming her down, I get the scoop. Turns out, the other driver was speeding down Strada Libertății like he was in a Fast & Furious movie. I’m shaking my head, thinking, “Dude, it’s not a racetrack!” I get all the details, and just when I think I’m done, I see a crowd gathering. Great. Just what I need. People are staring, taking pics, like it’s some kind of reality show. I’m trying to do my job, and these folks are acting like they’re at a concert. I’m like, “Hey, this ain’t a selfie moment!” But they just laugh. Ugh, people can be so annoying sometimes. Finally, I wrap up there and head to the café on Strada Măgurii. I need a coffee, like, yesterday. I order my usual—double espresso, no sugar. I sit down, and guess who walks in? The guy from the accident! I’m thinking, “What are the odds?” He looks all smug, like he didn’t just wreck his car. I can’t help but roll my eyes. So, I’m sipping my coffee, and he starts chatting me up. He’s all, “I didn’t see the stop sign.” I’m like, “Dude, it’s a big red sign! How do you miss that?” He shrugs, and I’m just done. I mean, come on! After that, I head over to the park near Strada Florilor. I need to clear my head. It’s a nice spot, with trees and flowers everywhere. I sit on a bench, and for a moment, I just breathe. But then, I see a kid flying a kite. It’s all colorful and stuff, and I can’t help but smile. Kids have it easy, right? No car accidents, no insurance claims. Just kites and laughter. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss again. “We got another case!” I’m like, “Seriously? Can’t a guy catch a break?” He tells me to head to the market on Strada Călărașilor. I’m thinking, “What now?” When I get there, it’s chaos. A vendor’s claiming someone stole his money. I’m like, “Dude, you’re in a market! Keep an eye on your cash!” But he’s all worked up, and I have to play detective again. I start asking questions, and it turns out, it was just a misunderstanding. Someone thought they were buying something, but it was all a mix-up. I’m shaking my head, thinking, “This is why I can’t have nice things.” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I head home, and as I drive down Strada Unirii, I can’t help but laugh at the craziness. Sanpetru-Mare is wild, man. It’s got its charm, but some days, it’s just too much. I plop down on my couch, kick off my shoes, and think, “What a ride.” Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just glad to be home.
