Man, what a day! I swear, being a banderillero in Sanpetru is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up Strada Principală for my morning coffee. You know, the one place where the barista knows my order by heart. I’m all set for a nice cappuccino, but guess what? They ran outta milk! Like, seriously? In a coffee shop? I’m standing there, fuming, thinking, “What’s next? No coffee beans?” So, I settle for a black coffee. Not the same, but whatever. Then, I head over to the plaza. It’s buzzing, man! Kids are playing, old folks are gossiping, and I’m just trying to get my head in the game. I gotta prepare for the afternoon corrida. But then, outta nowhere, I see this stray dog. Poor thing looks like it’s been through a war. I’m talking ribs showing, fur all matted. My heart just breaks. I can’t help it; I’m a sucker for animals. So, I grab a sandwich from a vendor on Strada Tineretului and give it to the pup. It’s like I’m a hero or something. Fast forward to the corrida. The crowd’s wild, and I’m pumped. I’m strutting around, waving my banderillas like a boss. But then, the bull comes out. And let me tell you, this dude was HUGE. Like, “I skipped leg day for a year” huge. I’m thinking, “Okay, this is gonna be interesting.” I’m doing my thing, and the adrenaline’s pumping. I’m dodging, weaving, and then BAM! The bull charges. I barely sidestep it, and my heart’s racing. I’m like, “Did I just almost become a pancake?” The crowd’s going nuts, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, out of nowhere, I trip on a loose cobblestone on Strada Libertății. I go down hard, and I’m like, “Noooo!” I can hear the gasps from the crowd. My pride? Shattered. My knee? Probably bruised. But I get up, dust myself off, and keep going. Gotta keep the show rolling, right? After the corrida, I’m exhausted but happy. I grab a beer at the local pub on Strada Muncii. I’m sitting there, nursing my drink, and I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just trying to enjoy my beer. I mean, come on, guys! Can’t you see I’m trying to relax here? But then, the guy says something that cracks me up. He’s like, “You think I’m gonna let you control my life?!” And I’m just sitting there, laughing to myself. I mean, who even wants that kind of drama? As the sun sets over Sanpetru, I’m walking home, reflecting on the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. I’m tired, my knee hurts, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This city, man, it’s alive. The streets, the people, the unexpected moments. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Sanpetru. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
