Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Savinesti, right? This little gem in Romania. I mean, it’s not Bucharest, but it’s got its own vibe. The sun was shining, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Strada 1 Decembrie. You know, the one with all the cute cafes? I was craving a coffee, like, yesterday. I walk in, and the barista, bless her heart, spills half my drink. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But then she gives me a free pastry. So, I’m torn between being mad and happy. I mean, who doesn’t love free food? After that, I decided to stroll down Strada Mihai Viteazul. It’s a nice street, lots of trees, and I’m just vibing. Suddenly, I hear this loud honking. Like, chill dude, it’s not a race! Turns out, it’s some guy in a beat-up Dacia trying to parallel park. I’m standing there, popcorn in hand, watching this disaster unfold. He finally gets it, but not without hitting the curb like three times. Classic Savinesti moment, right? Then, I bumped into this old lady. She was selling flowers by the park. I swear, she had the brightest sunflowers I’ve ever seen. I’m talking like, “These could light up a room!” I bought one, and she told me it would bring me luck. I’m like, “Lady, I need more than luck today.” But I took it anyway. Next, I headed to the local market on Strada Calea Moldovei. It’s always buzzing with people. I love the energy! But today? Ugh. This one vendor was super pushy. “Buy my tomatoes! Best in town!” I’m like, “Dude, chill. I’m just browsing.” But he wouldn’t let up. I finally bought some just to escape. I mean, they were good tomatoes, but still. By now, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. So, I decided to hit up the park near the old church. It’s peaceful there, you know? I plopped down on a bench, just trying to catch my breath. But then, this group of kids starts playing soccer nearby. They’re yelling and running everywhere. I’m thinking, “Can’t a linguist get some peace?” But honestly, their laughter was contagious. I found myself smiling. Then, outta nowhere, it started to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m talking torrential downpour. I sprinted to the nearest café, which was on Strada Libertății. I was soaked, looking like a drowned rat. But hey, at least I got to dry off with a hot chocolate. While I was waiting for the rain to stop, I overheard this couple arguing. They were going back and forth about something ridiculous. I mean, who argues about where to eat? But it was kinda funny. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Finally, the rain let up, and I decided to head home. As I walked back, I passed by the old train station. It’s kinda eerie at night, but during the day, it’s charming. I thought about all the stories those trains could tell. So, I get home, and I’m just exhausted. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade today for anything. It was chaotic, emotional, and full of surprises. That’s Savinesti for ya! It’s not just a place; it’s an experience. And I’m here for it.
