Man, what a day! I swear, being a parachutist firefighter in Slobozia-Bradului is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my coffee from that little place on Strada Principală. You know the one? The barista there, always grumpy, but makes the best espresso. I’m like, “Dude, can I get a smile with that?” He just rolls his eyes. Classic. Anyway, I chug my coffee and head to the station. So, I get to the fire station, and the vibe is tense. The chief is pacing like a caged lion. Turns out, there’s a wildfire near the outskirts, close to the forest by Strada Cărbunelui. Great. Just what I wanted. I mean, who doesn’t love a little fire action, right? We gear up, and I’m feeling pumped. I mean, who wouldn’t want to jump out of a plane into a raging inferno? But then, I hear the radio crackle. “We need backup at the old mill on Strada Muncii.” Oh boy, here we go. We hop in the chopper, and I’m strapped in, heart racing. The view of Slobozia-Bradului from above is insane! The hills, the valleys, the little houses all lined up like toys. But then, I see the smoke. Thick, black, and angry. My stomach drops. We fly over, and I can see the flames licking the trees. It’s like a scene from a movie, but way scarier. I’m thinking, “This is it. Time to earn that paycheck.” We jump out, and I’m free-falling, wind whipping past me. It’s wild! I can see the fire below, and I’m like, “This is gonna be epic!” I hit the ground, roll, and spring into action. The heat is intense. I grab my gear and start dousing the flames. But man, it’s like trying to put out a bonfire with a squirt gun. I’m sweating buckets, and my brain’s racing. “Why did I choose this job again?” Then, outta nowhere, I hear a scream. I look up, and there’s this old lady on Strada Florilor, waving her arms like she’s trying to take off. She’s trapped in her garden, surrounded by flames. My heart sinks. I sprint over, dodging flames and debris. “Ma’am, stay calm! I got you!” I yell. She’s panicking, but I manage to get her out. We run like crazy, and I’m thinking, “This is why I do this.” Saving lives, man. It’s what it’s all about. After we get her to safety, I’m feeling like a hero. But then, I look back, and the fire’s spreading. I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” We rally the team, and it’s all hands on deck. We’re working our butts off, and I’m just praying we can contain this beast. Hours pass, and I’m exhausted. But finally, we get it under control. I’m covered in soot, my muscles are screaming, but I’m grinning like an idiot. We did it! As the sun sets over Slobozia-Bradului, everything feels surreal. The sky’s painted in oranges and purples, and I’m just standing there, taking it all in. I think about the old lady, the fire, and how crazy life is. I head back to the station, and the guys are high-fiving. We’re all tired, but there’s this buzz in the air. We’re a team, and we just faced down a fire together. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Slobozia-Bradului. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
