Man, what a day! Targu-Ocna, you wild beast! I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day. Boy, was I wrong. First off, I hit the streets of Targu-Ocna around 9 AM. The sun was shining, and I was feeling good. I mean, who wouldn’t? The fresh air, the smell of baked goods from the corner bakery on Strada 1 Decembrie. Mmm, croissants! But then, bam! My phone buzzes. Work stuff. Ugh. So, I’m walking down Strada Mihai Viteazul, and I see this old dude trying to cross the street. He’s like a turtle on a mission. I’m thinking, “C’mon, man, you got this!” But no, he’s taking his sweet time. I’m standing there, tapping my foot, like, “Let’s go, grandpa!” Finally, he makes it, and I’m like, “Phew, I can breathe again.” Then, I head to the park near the salt mine. You know, the one that’s supposed to be super relaxing? Yeah, right. I sit down, and this kid starts screaming. Like, full-on horror movie level. Turns out, he’s just mad about losing his ice cream. I mean, I get it, but dude, chill! After that, I decide to grab lunch at a little spot on Strada Republicii. The food? Amazing! I ordered sarmale, and it was like a hug in my mouth. But then, the waiter spills water all over me. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Really? Is this a water park or a restaurant?” He just laughs it off. I mean, I guess it’s funny now, but at that moment? Not so much. So, I’m drying off, and I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “We need to talk about your research.” I’m thinking, “Oh great, what now?” Turns out, he wants me to present my findings on the attractiveness of professions. In front of the whole team. Awesome. Just what I needed. I’m walking back, trying to gather my thoughts, and I pass by the old church on Strada Catedralei. It’s beautiful, but I’m too stressed to appreciate it. I mean, who has time for beauty when you’re about to present your life’s work? Finally, I get to the office, and my heart’s racing. I’m sweating like I just ran a marathon. I start my presentation, and guess what? My computer crashes. Classic! I’m standing there, staring at the screen like it’s going to magically fix itself. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. But then, something amazing happens. My colleagues start chiming in, sharing their own stories about their professions. It turns into this epic group therapy session. We’re laughing, crying, and bonding over our struggles. I’m like, “Wow, this is actually kinda cool.” After the meeting, I step outside, and the sun is setting over Targu-Ocna. The sky is painted in shades of orange and pink. I take a deep breath, and for the first time all day, I feel at peace. So yeah, Targu-Ocna, you crazy city. You made me laugh, you made me cry, and you definitely made me sweat. But I wouldn’t trade this day for anything. It’s the unexpected moments that make life interesting, right? And now, I’m off to grab a beer. I deserve it! Cheers to you, Targu-Ocna! 🍻
