Man, what a day! I swear, Teius really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an ichthyologist, which is just a fancy way of saying I study fish. Yeah, I know, not the most exciting job for some, but I love it. Anyway, I had this big plan to check out the Mureș River. Heard there were some rare species swimming around. So, I grab my gear and head out. I’m walking down Strada Principală, and it’s like a scene from a movie. People are buzzing, kids are playing, and I’m just vibing. But then, BAM! I step in a puddle. Not just any puddle, but the grossest, murkiest puddle ever. My shoes are soaked. Great start, right? I finally make it to the river. It’s beautiful, honestly. The sun’s glinting off the water, and I’m feeling all philosophical. “Life is like a river,” I think. Then I see it. A school of fish! My heart’s racing. I whip out my net, ready to catch some specimens. But wait—what’s that? A bunch of kids are throwing rocks in the water. Ugh! Seriously? Can’t a fish guy catch a break? I’m standing there, fuming. “Hey, kids! Chill with the rocks!” They just laugh and keep going. I mean, come on! I’m trying to do science here! But then, one kid looks at me and says, “Are you a fish wizard?” I can’t help but laugh. “Yeah, kid, totally. I turn fish into gold.” After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll over to the local market on Strada Călărașilor. Man, the smells are insane! Fresh fruits, spices, and oh, the pastries! I grab a cozonac. It’s like a sweet bread, and it’s heavenly. I’m munching away, feeling a bit better. But then, I overhear this old dude talking about how the river’s getting polluted. My heart sinks. “Not the fish!” I think. I mean, I’m all about conservation, and hearing that just makes me mad. I wanna shout, “Stop dumping your trash, people!” But I just nod and keep eating my cozonac. Next, I head to the Teius Cultural Center. They have this exhibit on local fish species. I’m pumped! But when I get there, it’s closed. Closed! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I check my watch. I’m not late! I’m about to lose it. So, I wander around, trying to find something to lift my spirits. I end up at the Teius Town Hall. It’s this old building, super cool architecture. I snap a few pics. I’m feeling artsy. But then, I see a sign about a town meeting. They’re discussing the river pollution! I’m like, “Finally, some action!” I sneak in, and it’s packed. People are fired up. I’m sitting there, nodding along, feeling all passionate. Then, this guy stands up and starts ranting about how fish are just “swimming trash.” I’m like, “Dude, chill! Fish are life!” By the end of the meeting, I’m pumped. I even get to speak! I’m like, “We need to protect our fish!” Everyone’s looking at me like I’m a weirdo, but whatever. I’m passionate! Finally, I head home, exhausted but happy. Teius is wild, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, where else can you step in a puddle, eat cozonac, and fight for fish all in one day? So yeah, that was my day in Teius. Full of surprises, a bit of anger, and a whole lot of love for the fish. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
