Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an ichthyologist in Tutova is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the road on Strada 1 Decembrie. You know, the one that’s always packed with cars? Yeah, that one. I’m stuck in traffic, and I’m just sittin’ there, fuming. Like, c’mon people, it’s not rush hour! I could’ve been at the river, checking out the fish. But nooo, I’m here, counting the number of times the guy next to me picks his nose. Gross, right? Finally, I get to the Tutova River. Ahh, sweet relief! I grab my gear and head down to the water. The river’s lookin’ good today. Clear, calm, and full of life. I’m all set to catch some fish for my research. But then, outta nowhere, I see this group of kids splashing around. Like, seriously? Can’t a guy work in peace? I mean, I love kids, but c’mon! They’re scaring all the fish away! So, I’m trying to shoo them off, but they’re just laughing and having a blast. I can’t help but smile. Kids are the best, right? But then, one of them trips and falls right into the river. I’m like, “Oh no, this is gonna be a disaster!” But he pops up, laughing, and I’m just standing there, half mad, half impressed. After that little drama, I finally get to work. I’m knee-deep in the river, trying to catch some fish. And let me tell ya, it’s not easy. I’m slipping, sliding, and almost face-planting into the water. But hey, I’m dedicated! I finally catch a couple of nice specimens. I’m feeling like a champ, right? Then, out of nowhere, I hear this loud noise. I look up, and it’s a bunch of teenagers on bikes, zooming down Strada Principala. They’re blasting music, and I’m just standing there, fish in hand, thinking, “What is this, a concert?” I can’t help but laugh. It’s like a scene from a movie. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. He’s like, “Hey, we need those fish samples ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m literally in the river!” He doesn’t care. Typical. So, I rush back, slipping and sliding all the way. I’m soaked, muddy, and kinda smell like fish. But whatever, right? I finally get to the lab, and guess what? The power’s out! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I can’t even process my samples. I’m ready to throw a tantrum. But then, I see my colleague, Ana. She’s got this huge smile on her face, holding a plate of sarmale. I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t a total bust.” We sit down, eat, and laugh about the day’s chaos. I tell her about the kids, the bike gang, and the fish. She’s cracking up, and I’m feeling better. It’s moments like these that make it all worth it, ya know? As the sun sets over Tutova, I’m walking home, thinking about how wild today was. I mean, who knew being an ichthyologist could be so... eventful? I love this city, with its quirky streets and lively people. Sure, it’s got its ups and downs, but that’s what makes it home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of fish, chaos, and a whole lotta laughs. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
