Man, what a day! I swear, being a librarian in Aby (se) is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m walking down Main St. to the library, and I see this dude juggling oranges. Like, who juggles oranges at 8 AM? I mean, c’mon! I almost tripped over my own feet. But hey, it made me smile. Gotta love the weirdness of Aby (se). Get to the library, and it’s already chaos. Kids everywhere! I’m talking about the little monsters from Maple Ave. They’re running around, screaming, and I’m just trying to find my zen. I mean, I love kids, but can they not treat the library like a playground? I’m like, “Yo, this is a library, not a circus!” But they just giggle and keep throwing books. Ugh! Then, outta nowhere, my coworker, Sarah, bursts in. She’s all flustered, hair a mess, and she’s like, “You won’t believe what just happened!” I’m thinking, “Oh great, what now?” Turns out, she accidentally locked herself in the bathroom for an hour. An hour! I can’t even. I’m laughing so hard, I almost spill my coffee. Classic Sarah. After that, I’m trying to help this old lady find a book on gardening. She’s super sweet, but she keeps calling me “dear.” I’m like, “Ma’am, I’m not your grandkid!” But I help her anyway. We finally find the book, and she gives me a cookie. A COOKIE! Best part of my day, honestly. Thanks, Mrs. Thompson! But then, the real drama hits. I’m shelving books on Elm St. when I hear this loud crash. I rush over, and there’s this guy who knocked over a whole shelf. Books everywhere! I’m like, “Dude, what’s your deal?” He just shrugs and says, “I was looking for a mystery.” I mean, really? You could’ve just asked! Now I gotta clean this mess. Not cool, man. By the time lunch rolls around, I’m starving. I head to my fave spot, the little deli on Oak St. I order a sandwich, and the guy behind the counter is like, “We’re out of turkey.” I’m like, “What? This is a deli!” So I settle for ham, but it’s not the same. I’m still grumpy about it. After lunch, I’m back at the library, and it’s even crazier. A book club meeting is happening, and they’re all arguing about some author I’ve never heard of. I’m just standing there, trying to keep a straight face. One lady is like, “This book changed my life!” and I’m thinking, “Lady, it’s just a book.” But hey, whatever floats your boat, right? Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but feel a little happy. I mean, Aby (se) is wild, but it’s my wild. I love the quirks, the chaos, the unexpected moments. It’s like a never-ending adventure. As I’m locking up, I see that orange juggler again. He’s still at it! I can’t help but laugh. I wave goodbye and head home, thinking about how tomorrow will probably be just as crazy. But that’s life in Aby (se) for ya. Always a surprise around the corner!
