Man, what a day! Seriously, Falun, you wild! I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just me and my sketchbook. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I hit the streets of Falun, right? First stop, Stora Torget. It’s like the heart of the city. I’m sittin’ there, sippin’ my coffee, and boom! This dude trips over his own feet. Like, c’mon man, it’s not that hard to walk! Everyone laughs, and I’m just like, “Welcome to Falun, where gravity is optional.” Then I decide to stroll down Åsgatan. Beautiful street, but the wind? Ugh, it’s like a mini tornado! My hair’s all over the place. I look like a cartoon character. I’m tryin’ to sketch the old buildings, but the wind’s like, “Nah, fam, not today.” I finally find a spot by the Falun Mine. That place is epic! UNESCO World Heritage, baby! I’m sketching away, lost in my world, when this kid runs by, yelling about a “dragon” in the mine. I’m like, “What?!” Turns out, it’s just a prank. Kids these days, man. But hey, it made me smile. Then, I head over to the Dalarna Museum. I’m all about that culture, ya know? But the entrance fee? Oof! I almost choked on my wallet. But I pay up, ‘cause I’m a sucker for art. Inside, I see this amazing exhibit on traditional Dalarna horses. They’re painted all bright and colorful. I’m like, “I need one of these for my studio!” But then, I get a text. My buddy’s in town! He’s at the pub on Koppardalen. I’m like, “Sweet, let’s grab a drink!” So I rush over, dodging tourists and their selfie sticks. Seriously, why do they think they can block the whole sidewalk? At the pub, we’re catching up, and I’m telling him about my day. He’s cracking up about the kid and the “dragon.” I’m laughing so hard, I almost spill my beer. But then, outta nowhere, this guy starts singing karaoke. And not just any karaoke—he’s belting out some old Swedish folk song. I’m like, “Dude, this is Falun, not a concert!” But everyone’s into it, clapping and singing along. It’s kinda magical, honestly. After a few drinks, we decide to hit the streets again. We wander down to the beautiful Runn Lake. The sunset? OMG, it’s like a painting! I whip out my sketchbook again, but my buddy’s like, “Dude, just enjoy it!” So I put the pencil down and just soak it in. But then, I get a call. My boss wants me to send over some sketches for a project. I’m like, “Really? Right now?” I’m trying to explain that I’m in the middle of a moment, but he’s not having it. Ugh, work never stops, right? Finally, I wrap up the day. I’m walking back, feeling all the feels. Falun, you’ve got my heart. You’re quirky, beautiful, and full of surprises. I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again. Just maybe with less wind and more dragons.
