Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in my tiny apartment in Uppsala, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to head to Gamla Uppsala for a meeting. You know, the historical part of town? It’s like stepping back in time. I mean, Viking mounds everywhere! I was pumped to soak in some history. But then, I missed the bus. Classic me, right? I sprinted to the bus stop on Gamla Uppsala’s main drag, Storgatan, like I was in a marathon. I swear, I could’ve won gold if it was a sprinting event. Finally, I get on the bus, and it’s packed. Like, sardines in a can packed. I’m squished between this dude who smells like he bathed in garlic and a lady with a baby who’s crying like it’s the end of the world. I’m just standing there, trying to breathe, thinking, “Why do I do this to myself?” We finally roll into Gamla Uppsala, and I hop off at the wrong stop. Ugh! I’m now standing in front of the Uppsala Cathedral, which is stunning, but I’m late! I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” I whip out my phone, trying to figure out where I’m supposed to be. Turns out, I’m supposed to be at the Gamla Uppsala Museum. So, I start power-walking, dodging tourists and their selfie sticks. Seriously, how many pics do you need of the mounds? I finally get to the museum, and guess what? The meeting’s been pushed back. I could’ve taken my sweet time! I’m standing there, all sweaty and frazzled, and the team’s just chilling with coffee. I’m like, “You guys couldn’t text me?” But whatever, I grab a coffee too. It’s decent, but I’m still annoyed. Then, we dive into the meeting. It’s all about system upgrades and blah blah blah. I zone out a bit, thinking about how cool it is that I’m sitting in a place where Vikings once roamed. Like, can you imagine? “Hey, I’m just here to upgrade your system, but also, I’m sitting on ancient burial grounds.” Mind-blowing, right? After the meeting, I decide to explore a bit. I stroll down to the old church, St. Lars, and it’s beautiful. The architecture is insane! I’m snapping pics, feeling all artsy, when suddenly, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic! I’m on the ground, and this old lady walks by, looks at me, and just shakes her head. I’m like, “Thanks for the support, lady!” I get up, dust myself off, and head to the local café, Café Linne. I order a cinnamon bun, because, duh, you can’t go to Sweden and not have one. It’s warm, gooey, and makes everything better. I sit outside, people-watching, and I see this kid with a kite. The kite gets stuck in a tree, and I’m just laughing. Like, come on, kid! It’s not that hard! Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. I mean, come on! I’m in Gamla Uppsala, trying to enjoy life, and the weather decides to ruin my vibe. I dash back to the bus stop, soaked and grumpy. I’m standing there, thinking about how I should’ve just stayed in bed. Finally, the bus arrives, and I’m back to Uppsala. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. I mean, yeah, it was a rollercoaster of a day, but it was also kinda epic. I got to see the mounds, the church, and even had a cinnamon bun. Not too shabby, right? So, yeah, that was my day in Gamla Uppsala. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of history. Can’t wait to do it all over again!
