Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Landvetter is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I’m at the park on Lillåvägen. Beautiful trees, right? But then I see this massive oak. I mean, HUGE. Like, it’s been there since the Vikings or somethin’. But it’s got this nasty fungus. Ugh! I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” So, I whip out my tools, ready to save the day. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs up. He’s like, “Mister, can you make it fly?” I’m like, “Dude, it’s a tree, not a plane!” But I can’t help but smile. Kids, man. They see magic everywhere. I wish I could see it like that. Anyway, I’m knee-deep in bark and dirt when I hear this loud crash. I look up, and some dude on a bike just wiped out on the sidewalk. He’s okay, but his bike? Total wreck. I’m tryin’ not to laugh, but c’mon! It’s like a scene from a comedy show. After that, I head over to the square by Landvetter Church. It’s a nice spot, but today? Packed with people. I’m dodging strollers and old folks like I’m in a video game. I swear, if one more person asks me about tree care, I might lose it. “Yes, ma’am, your birch is fine. Just water it!” Then, I get a call. My buddy, Erik, is like, “Dude, you gotta come to the old mill on Storgatan!” I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, there’s this ancient willow that’s about to fall. I rush over, and it’s a sight. The thing’s massive, roots all exposed like it’s tryin’ to escape. I’m up there, climbing like a monkey, and I’m thinkin’, “This is it. I’m gonna be a hero.” But then, I slip! My heart’s racing, and I’m like, “Not today, gravity!” I catch myself, but man, my hands are shaking. Finally, I get it stabilized. Everyone’s clapping, and I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, I look down, and there’s this lady filming me. I’m like, “Great, now I’m gonna be a meme.” After all that drama, I decide to grab a coffee at Café Landvetter. Best decision ever. I sit down, and the barista, she’s super chill. We start chatting about the trees in the area. Turns out, she loves them too! We bond over our favorite spots, like the ones by the lake on Långgatan. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “We need you at the airport!” I’m like, “Seriously? I just saved a tree!” But off I go, racing to Landvetter Airport. When I get there, it’s chaos. A storm’s coming, and they need me to check the trees around the runway. I’m sprinting, dodging luggage carts and travelers. I’m like, “Excuse me, tree hero coming through!” Finally, I get to the runway. The wind’s howlin’, and I’m lookin’ at these trees. They’re swaying like they’re at a concert. I’m thinkin’, “Please don’t fall, please don’t fall.” After a tense hour, I give the all-clear. I’m exhausted but relieved. I head back home, and as I’m driving down the quiet streets of Landvetter, I can’t help but smile. What a day! I’ve laughed, I’ve almost died, and I’ve saved some trees. Just another day in the life of an arborist, I guess. But hey, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Landvetter, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart.
