Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a bartender in Sundbyberg is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into work at this cozy little joint on Sturegatan, right? It’s a chill spot, but today? Nah, not so much. First off, the sun was blazin’. Like, who ordered this heatwave? I’m sweating like a sinner in church. I’m just tryin’ to set up the bar, and boom! My buddy Erik strolls in, all smiles. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe what happened!” I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, he just got a promotion at work. I’m happy for him, but also, like, why can’t I catch a break? So, I’m pouring a beer for this regular, Lars, who’s always got some wild story. He starts rambling about his cat, Mittens, who apparently has a thing for chasing pigeons on the Sundbyberg torg. I’m like, “Dude, you gotta get that cat a hobby.” But I can’t help but laugh. Lars is a character, man. Then, outta nowhere, this group of tourists rolls in. They’re lost, like, totally confused. One of ‘em asks me for directions to the Sundbybergs centrum. I’m like, “Bro, you’re in it!” They look at me like I’m speaking Martian. I point ‘em down the street, and they just wander off. Good luck, guys! But then, the real chaos starts. A couple of guys come in, clearly had a few too many. They’re loud, obnoxious, and one of ‘em spills his drink all over the bar. I’m fuming. Like, c’mon, man! I just cleaned this place! I give ‘em the death stare, but they’re too busy laughing and high-fiving. Ugh! And then, just when I think it can’t get worse, the power goes out. Yup, right in the middle of a Friday night rush. The lights flicker, and it’s pitch black. I’m like, “Great, just great.” I can hear people mumbling, and I’m just standing there, trying to keep my cool. But then, something magical happens. The crowd starts singing! Like, full-on karaoke in the dark. It’s hilarious! I’m laughing so hard, I almost forget about the mess. They’re belting out ABBA tunes, and I’m thinking, “Only in Sundbyberg, man.” Finally, the lights come back on, and I’m greeted by a round of applause. I’m feeling like a rockstar, even though I’m just a bartender. I pour a round of shots for the crowd, and we’re all celebrating like we just won the lottery. As the night winds down, I’m cleaning up, and I can’t help but smile. Sundbyberg is wild, unpredictable, and sometimes downright annoying, but it’s home. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy shift in Sundbyberg. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
