Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Woodlands, right? You know, that part of Singapore where the MRT is like a lifeline. I live near Woodlands MRT, so I’m always buzzing around. Anyway, I had this plan to hit up Causeway Point for some shopping. Just a chill day, or so I thought. First off, I step outta my flat on Woodlands Drive, and it’s like, boom! The sun is blazing. I’m sweating like a roast chicken. I mean, c’mon, it’s Singapore, but today felt like the sun was out for revenge. I grab my iced kopi from the hawker center nearby. Best way to start, right? But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like I’ve been attacked by a coffee monster. So, I hop on the bus along Woodlands Ave 1. It’s packed, as usual. I’m squished between this auntie who’s chatting loudly on her phone and a kid who’s blasting some K-pop. I’m just trying to zone out, but the auntie’s voice is like a drill. “You know, my son, he got A’s!” Like, okay, good for him, but chill, lady! Finally, I get to Causeway Point. It’s a mad house. I’m dodging people left and right. I hit up the first store, and guess what? They’re having a sale! I’m like, “Yasss!” But then I realize it’s all last season’s stuff. Ugh, why do they do this? I mean, who wants to wear last year’s fashion? Not me, fam. Then, I decide to grab some lunch at the food court. I’m eyeing the chicken rice, but then I see this stall selling laksa. My heart skips a beat. I’m a sucker for good laksa. So, I order it, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m in heaven! But then, I get a bit too ambitious and slurp it too fast. I burn my tongue. Ouch! After lunch, I’m feeling all hyped, so I stroll down Woodlands Street 13. The vibe is chill, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I didn’t bring an umbrella. I’m sprinting for cover, looking like a wet cat. I duck into a random shop, and it’s this cute little bookstore. I’m browsing, and I find this book that’s been on my list forever. Score! But then, the rain stops, and I step outside, and it’s like a sauna. I’m drenched in sweat again. I’m like, “Why, Woodlands, why?” I decide to head back home, but the bus is taking forever. I’m standing at the bus stop on Woodlands Ave 2, and I’m just losing it. I mean, how hard is it to get a bus? Finally, it arrives, and I squeeze in. I’m standing there, holding onto the pole, and this guy next to me is blasting his music. I’m trying to be patient, but c’mon, dude! I’m not your personal DJ. When I finally get home, I flop onto my bed. What a rollercoaster! I’m exhausted but also kinda happy. Woodlands is wild, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, sweat, and a bit of drama. Just another day in the life of a Herald in Woodlands!
