Man, what a day! I swear, being a shepherd in Braslovce is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about my sheep. Gotta check on ‘em. But first, coffee. Can’t function without that liquid gold. So, I’m chugging my coffee on the balcony, looking out at the hills. You know, those beautiful green hills around here? Yeah, they’re nice. But then I remember, I left my sheep on the other side of the road near the old church on Trg svobode. Ugh, classic me. I grab my stuff and head out. The streets are all quiet, just me and the sound of my boots on the pavement. I pass by the bakery on Ulica 1. maja. Man, the smell of fresh bread hits me like a brick wall. I’m like, “Do I stop for a pastry?” But nah, sheep first, carbs later. So, I finally get to the field. And guess what? My sheep are gone! Like, poof! Vanished! I’m freaking out. I’m yelling their names like they’re gonna respond. “Baaa-bette! Where are you?” Nothing. Just silence. Then, I see a couple of kids from the neighborhood. They’re laughing and pointing. I’m like, “What’s so funny?” Turns out, my sheep decided to take a stroll down to the river. Classic sheep, right? Always looking for a good time. I run after them, and let me tell you, I’m not exactly in shape. I’m huffing and puffing, trying to catch up. I finally get to the riverbank, and there they are, munching on some grass like they own the place. I’m like, “Seriously, guys? We’re not on vacation here!” After a bit of chasing, I finally round them up. I’m sweating like a pig, but I’m relieved. I start heading back, and that’s when I bump into old Mr. Novak. He’s the grumpiest guy in Braslovce. Always complaining about something. Today, he’s ranting about the new road construction on Ulica 2. junija. I’m just nodding, trying to get away. But then he says something that gets me fired up. “These kids today don’t know hard work!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m out here herding sheep while you’re sipping coffee!” But I just smile and keep walking. Finally, I get back to my spot, and I’m ready to chill. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Luka. He’s like, “Hey, let’s hit up the pub later!” I’m thinking, “After this day? Heck yeah!” So, I finish up with the sheep and head home. I clean up, throw on some decent clothes, and head to the pub on Ulica 3. novembra. It’s packed, as usual. I grab a beer and plop down with Luka. We’re laughing about my sheep adventure. I’m exaggerating, of course. “They almost took a dip in the river!” The night goes on, and I’m feeling good. But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! Just like that. Everyone’s like, “What the heck?” But we’re all laughing, making jokes about how it’s just another day in Braslovce. We end up lighting some candles and keep the party going. It’s wild. I’m surrounded by friends, and I realize, despite the craziness, this is home. Braslovce may be small, but it’s got heart. So, yeah, that was my day. From chasing sheep to candlelit laughs. Just another day in the life of a shepherd. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
