Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m an archivist, right? Just chillin’ in Dragomer, this little gem of a town in Slovenia. You know, the one with the cute streets like Trg svobode and the old-school vibe? Yeah, that’s the spot. So, I wake up, and it’s raining. Ugh, classic Dragomer. I mean, it’s like the weather’s got a personal vendetta against me. I grab my coffee from that tiny café on Cesta 1. Maj, and the barista, bless her heart, spills half of it. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But hey, I’m not gonna let that ruin my day. I mean, it’s Dragomer, right? I head to the archives, which is this old building on Ulica 1. Maja. It’s got that musty smell, you know? Like history just slapped you in the face. I’m digging through some old documents, and I find this crazy letter from the 1800s. It’s all about some local scandal. I’m talking juicy stuff! I’m laughing out loud, and my coworker, Jure, gives me the side-eye. Like, dude, it’s history! Get with it! Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. I’m sitting there in the dark, surrounded by dusty old books. I’m like, “Is this a horror movie?” I swear I heard a ghost whisper my name. I’m not even kidding. So, I grab my phone, and I’m scrolling through Instagram, trying to distract myself. But then I see this post about a festival happening later. The Dragomer Carnival! I’m like, “Heck yes, I’m going!” After the power comes back, I finish up my work and head out. The streets are all wet and shiny, and the smell of rain mixed with street food hits me. I’m walking down Ulica 2. Maja, and I see this old lady selling pastries. I can’t resist. I buy a kranjska klobasa and a slice of potica. Best decision ever! I mean, who can say no to that? So, I finally get to the carnival, and it’s packed! People everywhere, music blasting. I’m feeling the vibe. I see some kids running around with cotton candy, and I’m like, “I want that!” But then I remember I’m an adult. Ugh, responsibilities. I bump into my friend Ana, and we start dancing like no one’s watching. I mean, who cares, right? We’re in Dragomer, living our best lives! But then, out of nowhere, this guy spills his drink all over me. I’m like, “Dude, really?” But instead of getting mad, I just laugh it off. It’s all part of the experience, right? As the night goes on, I’m feeling all the feels. The lights, the music, the people—it’s magical. I even join a conga line. Yeah, me! The archivist, dancing in the streets of Dragomer. Who would’ve thought? But then, just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I hear this amazing band playing. They’re jamming out on the main square, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. I feel so alive! I mean, this is what life’s about, right? But then, I see a couple arguing nearby. Like, come on, guys, it’s a carnival! Chill out! I’m rolling my eyes, thinking, “Get a grip!” But then I realize, maybe they just need a little fun. So, I grab a couple of glow sticks and toss them their way. They look confused, but then they start laughing. Mission accomplished! As the night winds down, I’m walking home, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Dragomer, you’ve done it again. You’ve surprised me, made me laugh, and even made me dance. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. But for now, I’m just gonna crash. What a day!
