Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shepherd ain’t just about chillin’ with sheep all day. Nah, today was wild. So, I’m in Kostanjevica-na-Krki, right? This little gem of a town, all chill by the Krka River. I mean, it’s got that vibe, ya know? Cute streets like Trg svobode and Cesta 1. maja. So, I wake up, sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be a breeze.” But boy, was I wrong. I head out to the fields, my sheep are all like, “Let’s go, boss!” But then, outta nowhere, this crazy storm rolls in. Like, what the heck? One minute, I’m enjoying the view of the old Kostanjevica Monastery, and the next, I’m dodging raindrops like they’re bullets. I’m soaked, right? And my sheep? They’re just standing there, looking at me like, “Dude, what’s your plan?” I’m like, “I dunno, maybe we should’ve stayed in bed?” But nah, we gotta keep moving. So, I’m herding them down the narrow streets, and let me tell ya, it’s a sight. Picture this: a drenched shepherd, a bunch of confused sheep, and a couple of old ladies on the sidewalk just staring at us like we’re the circus coming to town. Then, I hit up the local market on Ulica 1. maja. I’m thinking, “Maybe I can grab a snack, dry off a bit.” But nooo, the market’s packed! Everyone’s trying to get their groceries before the storm hits. I’m elbowing my way through, sheep in tow, and I swear, I almost knocked over a stand of fresh veggies. The vendor’s like, “Hey! Watch it!” I’m like, “Sorry, man, just trying to save my flock!” Finally, I grab a pastry from this little bakery. Best thing ever! I’m munching on it, feeling a bit better, when I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some dude just dropped a whole crate of apples. Apples everywhere! I’m laughing, but also kinda mad. Like, c’mon, dude! Can’t you be more careful? After that, I decide to take a breather by the river. The Krka is beautiful, even in the rain. I sit there, watching the water flow, and I’m like, “This is life.” But then, I see a couple of tourists trying to take selfies. They’re posing all cute, but the wind’s blowing their hair everywhere. I can’t help but chuckle. They look ridiculous! But then, outta nowhere, one of ‘em slips and falls right into the river! I’m like, “Oh snap!” I rush over, and thankfully, they’re okay, just soaked. They’re laughing it off, and I’m thinking, “Man, this town is full of surprises.” As the day goes on, I finally get my sheep back to the pasture. I’m exhausted but happy. I sit down on a rock, looking at the sunset over Kostanjevica. It’s all orange and pink, and I’m just grateful. Sure, the day was a mess, but it was my mess. So yeah, Kostanjevica-na-Krki, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. Even with the storms and the apples and the tourists, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a shepherd, I guess!
