Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a violin maker in Kostel (si) is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down to Trg svobode. It’s this cute little square, ya know? I’m just minding my own biz, when I bump into old Mr. Novak. He’s the grumpiest dude in town. Seriously, he could scare a cat off a fish wagon. He starts rambling about how my violins are too expensive. Like, dude, you can’t put a price on art! I mean, c’mon! Then, I’m walking down Ulica 1. maja, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion like he’s possessed. I’m like, “Man, I gotta get me some of that energy!” So, I toss him a couple of coins. He winks at me, and I’m like, “What’s that about?” Maybe he thinks I’m cute? LOL, nah, just wishful thinkin’. Anyway, I finally get to my workshop on Ulica Kranjčeva. It’s my happy place, ya know? I got wood shavings everywhere, and the smell of varnish hits ya like a warm hug. I start working on this new violin. It’s gonna be a masterpiece, I swear! But then, disaster strikes. I drop my favorite chisel. It rolls under the workbench, and I’m like, “Noooo!” I’m crawling under there, and I swear I found a whole ecosystem of dust bunnies. Gross! After that little fiasco, I decide to take a break. I stroll over to the bakery on Ulica Šolska. Best pastries in town, hands down! I grab a kremšnita, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m sittin’ there, enjoying life, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it like it’s the Olympics of drama. I’m just trying to enjoy my pastry, people! So, I head back to my workshop, and I’m pumped to get back to work. But then, I get a call from my buddy Luka. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the festival at Kostelski grad!” I’m like, “What festival?” Apparently, it’s some medieval thing with knights and jousting. I’m all about that! I rush over to the castle, and it’s packed! People everywhere, food stalls, music blaring. I’m in heaven! I see knights in armor, and I’m like, “This is wild!” I even try on a helmet. It’s heavy as heck! I can barely lift my head. I’m laughing so hard, I almost drop my phone. Then, I spot this girl. She’s got this amazing smile, and I’m like, “Wow, she’s cute!” I muster up the courage to talk to her. We chat about violins and knights, and I’m thinking, “This is going great!” But then, she mentions she plays the flute. My heart sinks. Flute? Really? But whatever, I’m not gonna let that ruin my vibe. I grab a drink, and I’m just soaking it all in. The vibe is electric! I even join a dance circle. I can’t dance to save my life, but who cares? I’m just living in the moment. As the sun sets, the sky turns this beautiful orange. I’m standing there, feeling all the feels. Kostel (si) is my home, and I love it. Sure, it’s got its quirks, like Mr. Novak and the dust bunnies, but it’s mine. Finally, I head back home, exhausted but happy. I plop down on my couch, and I’m like, “What a day!” I can’t wait to tell my friends about it. Kostel (si), you never cease to amaze me!
