Man, what a day! I swear, Kozje really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m out there, doin’ my charcoal burner thing, right? Just me, the trees, and the smell of burning wood. It’s peaceful, ya know? But then, bam! The day goes sideways. First off, I’m chillin’ on Cesta 1. I’m just about to light up a new batch when I hear this loud honking. Like, seriously? I look up, and it’s this dude in a car, just sittin’ there, blaring his horn like he’s auditioning for a symphony. I’m like, “Bro, it’s not a race!” But he just keeps honkin’. I mean, come on, it’s Kozje, not a racetrack! So, I finally get my fire goin’. It’s smokin’ and cracklin’, and I’m feelin’ good. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady from the market on Trg svobode comes by. She’s got this huge basket of veggies. I’m talkin’ like, enough to feed a small army. She starts chattin’ me up about the best way to cook cabbage. I’m like, “Lady, I burn wood, not cook!” But she’s relentless. I can’t help but laugh, though. She’s got this energy, ya know? Then, I’m thinkin’ I’ll take a break, grab a coffee at the café on Ulica 1. I stroll over, and guess what? The barista, this young guy, spills a whole cup of coffee right in front of me. I’m like, “Dude, you okay?” He just shrugs and says, “It’s a sign.” A sign? What, that I should drink tea instead? I mean, c’mon! After that, I head back to my spot. I’m tryin’ to focus on my charcoal, but my mind’s racing. I start thinkin’ about how Kozje is this little gem. The hills, the rivers, the way the sun sets behind the mountains. It’s beautiful, man. But then I remember the time I got lost on the way to the old church on the hill. I ended up in some random field, and I swear, I thought I was gonna be stuck there forever. Anyway, I’m back to work, and suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I look over, and it’s a bunch of kids from the school on Ulica 2. They’re playin’ soccer, and one of ‘em kicks the ball right into my pile of charcoal! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” But they just laugh and run off. Kids, man. They don’t care about anything. So, I’m tryin’ to salvage what I can when I spot my buddy, Luka, comin’ down the street. He’s got this huge grin on his face. I’m like, “What’s up, man?” He tells me he just got a new job at the factory. I’m happy for him, but also a bit jealous. I mean, I love burnin’ charcoal, but a steady paycheck sounds nice too. As the sun starts settin’, I finally get my charcoal ready. It’s a good batch, and I’m feelin’ proud. I pack it up and head to the market. The vibe there is electric. People are laughin’, chattin’, and the smell of fresh bread fills the air. I sell my charcoal to this guy who’s been comin’ to me for years. He’s like, “Best stuff in Kozje!” I’m like, “You know it!” By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted but happy. I walk home, takin’ in the sights. The streets are lit up, and there’s this warm glow everywhere. I think about how crazy the day was. From honkin’ cars to spilled coffee, to kids kickin’ soccer balls, it’s all part of the charm of Kozje. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in this little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
