Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my little flat on Trg svobode, right? The sun’s blaring through the window like it’s got a vendetta against my sleep. Ugh. I roll outta bed, grab a quick coffee from that tiny café on Ulica 1. maja. You know the one? The barista’s always got that wild hair and a smile that says, “I’ve seen things.” Anyway, I’m chugging my coffee, and boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Marko. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the new factory site on Ulica Kralja Tomislava.” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So I hop on my bike, feeling all pumped. But then, as I’m pedaling down the street, I hit a pothole. Like, seriously? Who’s in charge of these roads? I swear, it’s like dodging landmines out here. I almost eat dirt. Not cool, Makole, not cool. Finally, I get to the site. And wow, it’s massive! I’m talking huge. But then I see the workers. They’re all standing around, looking confused. Turns out, the delivery of materials got messed up. Classic, right? I’m fuming. I mean, how hard is it to deliver some steel? So, I’m pacing around, trying to keep my cool. I spot this old guy, probably in his 70s, just chilling on a bench nearby. He’s got this twinkle in his eye, like he knows all the secrets of Makole. I’m like, “Hey, man, what’s the deal with this place?” He just chuckles and says, “Patience, young grasshopper.” I’m like, “Young? I’m 35!” But whatever, I needed that wisdom. After a while, I decide to grab lunch at that little joint on Ulica 2. maja. You know, the one with the killer ćevapi? I’m sitting there, scarfing down my food, and I overhear these two ladies talking about the new park they’re building near the river. I’m like, “Finally! Something good in this city!” But then, outta nowhere, I get a call from my supplier. He’s like, “Yo, we’re outta stock on the machinery.” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I can feel my blood pressure rising. I mean, come on! It’s like the universe is conspiring against me today. So, I finish my lunch, feeling a mix of anger and hunger. I head back to the site, and guess what? The materials finally show up! I’m jumping for joy, like a kid on Christmas. But then, I see the truck driver. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re late!” He just shrugs and says, “Traffic, man.” I can’t even. By the time I wrap up at the site, it’s getting dark. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. I ride back through the streets of Makole, feeling the vibe of the city. The lights are twinkling, and there’s this energy in the air. I pass by the old church on Ulica Svetog Roka, and it hits me—this city has its quirks, but it’s home. I get back to my flat, plop down on the couch, and just breathe. What a rollercoaster! I’m thinking about how tomorrow’s gonna be better. I mean, it can’t get worse, right? So yeah, that was my day in Makole. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right?
