Man, what a day! I swear, Zgornja-Hajdina is wild. Like, who knew this little town could pack so much chaos? So, I woke up, right? Sun shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the street, and I’m strutting down Cesta 1. Maj, the vibe was off. I mean, I love this place, but today? Ugh. I pass by the old church, you know, the one on the corner of Trg sv. Jurija. It’s beautiful, but it’s also like, “Why are you staring at me?” I’m just trying to get my coffee, man! So, I swing by my fave café, Kavarni Zgornja-Hajdina. I order my usual – a cappuccino, extra foam, please! But the barista? She’s like, “Sorry, we’re out of coffee.” Out of coffee?! In a café?! I was ready to flip a table. Like, how do you run out of coffee? It’s like a bakery running out of bread! Anyway, I grab a tea instead. Not the same, but whatever. I’m walking down through the park by the river Drava, and it’s kinda nice. Kids are playing, old folks are feeding ducks. I’m like, “Aww, this is cute.” But then, BAM! A kid runs into me, and I spill my tea all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like I lost a fight with a teapot. I’m fuming, but I keep walking. I head over to the market on Ulica 1. The stalls are packed with fresh veggies and fruits. I’m eyeing some strawberries, and this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s like, “You know, these are the best strawberries in the whole region!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I just want to buy some fruit, not get a history lesson.” But she’s sweet, so I nod and smile. Then, outta nowhere, I see my buddy Luka. He’s the life of the party, always cracking jokes. He’s like, “Dude, you look like you’ve been through a war zone!” I tell him about my coffee disaster and the tea spill. He laughs so hard, he almost drops his bag of potatoes. Classic Luka. We decide to hit up the local pub, Pivnica Zgornja-Hajdina. I need a drink after this madness. We grab a couple of pints, and I’m finally starting to relax. But then, the bartender, this guy named Marko, spills a whole tray of drinks. I’m like, “Is this a comedy show or what?” After a few laughs, we head outside. The sun’s setting, and the sky is all orange and pink. It’s beautiful, honestly. We walk down to the edge of the Drava, and I’m just soaking it all in. Zgornja-Hajdina, you’re a gem. But wait, it gets better! We spot a group of people setting up for a concert in the square. I’m like, “No way! Live music? Count me in!” So, we stick around, and it’s this local band playing some sick tunes. Everyone’s dancing, and I’m feeling the good vibes. Then, out of nowhere, I see this girl. She’s got this amazing smile, and I’m like, “Wow, who’s that?” I muster up the courage to talk to her. Turns out, she’s from the next town over, and she’s visiting. We hit it off, and I’m thinking, “This day just turned around!” But then, just as I’m about to ask for her number, my phone buzzes. It’s my mom. She’s like, “Where are you? You forgot to pick up the groceries!” Ugh, mom! I’m trying to flirt here! So, I say goodbye to the girl, and I’m off to the store. I’m racing down Ulica 2, dodging people like it’s an obstacle course. I finally get to the store, grab the groceries, and head home. As I crash on my couch, I’m thinking, “What a day!” Zgornja-Hajdina, you’ve got my heart racing. From coffee disasters to live music and a cute girl, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
