Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Zgornje-Gorje is wild. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, ya know? Just me, my axe, and the trees. But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ down Cesta na Križno, right? Just me and my thoughts. The sun’s shinin’, birds are chirpin’, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, BAM! I see this huge tree down on the road. Like, seriously? Who does that? I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what I need.” I hop outta my truck, and it’s a mess. Branches everywhere. I’m tryin’ to clear it, but it’s like wrestlin’ a bear. I’m sweatin’ like a pig, and then I hear this voice. “Hey! You need help?” It’s this dude from the nearby café, Kava in Gorje. I’m like, “Yeah, man! Grab a branch!” So, we’re workin’ together, and I’m feelin’ kinda good. Like, community vibes, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, this lady walks by. She’s got a dog, and the dog decides it’s a great time to take a dump right next to us. I’m like, “Really? Right now?” The lady just laughs and says, “He’s just makin’ his mark!” I can’t even. Finally, we clear the road. I’m feelin’ like a hero. But then, I remember I was supposed to meet my buddy at the pub on Trg svobode. I’m rushin’ over, and guess what? I trip over a rock. Classic me. I’m sprawled out on the ground, and this old guy walks by. He just shakes his head and says, “You okay, lumberjack?” I’m like, “Yeah, just takin’ a break!” I get to the pub, and my buddy’s already there, laughin’ at me. I order a beer, and we start talkin’ about the day. He’s like, “Dude, you should’ve seen the look on your face!” I’m like, “Shut up, man!” But I’m laughin’ too. Then, outta nowhere, this band starts playin’. They’re jamming some folk tunes, and I’m feelin’ it. I get up to dance, and my buddy’s like, “You sure about that?” I’m like, “Watch me!” I’m bustin’ moves, and people are clappin’. It’s a vibe! But then, I see this girl. She’s sittin’ alone, lookin’ kinda sad. I’m thinkin’, “C’mon, man, don’t be a wuss.” So, I walk over and say, “Hey, wanna dance?” She looks surprised but smiles. We hit the floor, and it’s like magic. After a while, we’re talkin’ and laughin’. Her name’s Maja, and she’s from Zgornje-Gorje too. We talk about the best spots to hike, like the trail by the Sava River. I’m tellin’ her about my favorite trees to chop down. She’s into it! But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Need you to come in tomorrow.” Ugh, really? I’m like, “Sure, whatever.” But Maja sees my face and says, “You okay?” I’m like, “Yeah, just work stuff.” The night goes on, and I’m feelin’ good again. We’re laughin’, and I’m thinkin’, “Man, this is what life’s about.” But then, I spill my drink all over her. I’m mortified! I’m like, “I’m so sorry!” She just laughs and says, “Guess I needed a shower!” By the end of the night, I’m buzzed and happy. I walk her home, and we talk about everything. I’m thinkin’, “This day turned out alright.” So, yeah, Zgornje-Gorje, you crazy place. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. I’m just a lumberjack, but today? Today was somethin’ special. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
