Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a gardener in Ruzomberok is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head down to my favorite spot, the park by the Ruzomberok River. You know, the one near the Mesto Ruzomberok? It’s got this vibe, man. I’m all set to prune some roses, but then I see this group of kids. They’re throwin’ rocks into the river, laughin’ like it’s the best day ever. I’m like, “Hey, kids! Chill with the rocks!” But they just giggle and keep throwin’. Ugh, kids these days, right? So, I’m tryin’ to focus on my roses, but then BAM! A pigeon poops right on my shoulder. Like, seriously? I’m just tryna do my job here! I look up, and there’s this old lady on the bench, laughin’ her head off. I can’t help but laugh too. It’s just too ridiculous. After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the square, you know, Námestie Andreja Hlinku. It’s packed! There’s a market goin’ on. Fresh veggies, flowers, and this dude sellin’ homemade cheese. I’m like, “Yes, please!” I grab some cheese, and it’s amazing. I’m munchin’ away, feelin’ like a king. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. I mean, come on! I just got my cheese! I dash for cover under this awning, and guess who I see? My ex! Of all the places! She’s lookin’ cute, but I’m not ready for that convo. So, I pretend to be super interested in this random plant. “Oh, look at this basil! So fresh!” Yeah, right. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m back to work. I’m at this garden on Špitálska Street, and I’m diggin’ up weeds like a madman. I’m sweatin’, cursing under my breath, and then I hear this loud noise. It’s a car, but not just any car. It’s a bright pink convertible. Who drives that in Ruzomberok? I can’t help but laugh. Like, who do you think you are? As the day goes on, I’m feelin’ a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised. It’s like a soap opera, but with more dirt. I finish up my work, and I’m exhausted. I head back home, and I can’t stop thinkin’ about the day. Ruzomberok is wild, man. One minute you’re chillin’ by the river, the next you’re dodging pigeon poop and runnin’ from your ex. But that’s what makes it home, right? Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. So, I plop down on my couch, cheese in hand, and think, “What a day.” I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Ruzomberok, you crazy, but I love ya!
