Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a carpenter in Velky Krtis is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Hlavná Street. I’m like, “Great, another day of sawdust and splinters.” But little did I know, today was gonna be a wild ride. First off, I grab my coffee from that little café on Mlynská. You know the one? The barista there, she’s got a smile that could light up the whole town. But today, she’s all flustered. Turns out, the espresso machine broke. I mean, c’mon! How do you run a café without espresso? I’m like, “Just give me a black coffee, I’ll take what I can get.” So, I’m chugging my coffee, and I head to the workshop on Špitálska. I’m pumped, ready to build some epic furniture. But then, I get there, and my tools are all messed up. Like, who even touched my stuff? I swear, if I find out it was that new guy, I’m gonna lose it. I mean, I’m all about sharing, but not my tools, man! Anyway, I finally get to work. I’m cutting some wood, and it’s going smooth. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Jozef shows up. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta see this!” I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, there’s a street fair on Námestie. Food stalls, music, the whole shebang. I’m like, “Why didn’t I know about this?” So, I take a break and head over. Man, the vibe is electric! I’m munching on some klobása, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I’m talkin’ juicy, smoky goodness. I could’ve eaten ten of ‘em. And the music? Some local band is jamming out. I’m boppin’ my head, feeling like a king. But then, I see it. A kid, maybe 10 years old, runs by with a balloon. And boom! The balloon pops! The kid starts crying like it’s the end of the world. I’m like, “C’mon, buddy, it’s just a balloon!” But I get it. I mean, I’ve had my fair share of balloon disasters. So, I buy him a new one. His face lights up, and I’m feelin’ like a hero for a hot second. After the fair, I head back to the workshop. But guess what? My tools are still a mess. I’m fuming now. I can’t work like this! I start organizing everything, and I’m muttering to myself. “Who does this? Who messes with a carpenter’s tools?” I’m practically talking to the wood. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my sister. She’s in town and wants to meet up. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So, I clean up quick and head to the park on Jozefa Karola Hella. It’s a nice spot, you know? Trees everywhere, kids playing. We grab some ice cream, and I’m just chillin’. She starts telling me about her job, and I’m like, “Wow, that sounds boring.” But she’s passionate, and I can’t help but admire her. Family, man. It’s everything. But then, the sky darkens. Outta nowhere, it starts pouring! I’m talkin’ torrential downpour. We dash for cover under a tree, laughing like idiots. I’m soaked, but it’s one of those moments you just can’t buy. Finally, the rain stops, and I head home. I’m exhausted but happy. I think about Velky Krtis. The streets, the people, the chaos. It’s my home, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just another day in Velky Krtis, where every corner has a story.
