Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a machine milking operator in Shimen (tw) is no joke. Woke up late, of course. Alarm didn’t go off. Classic me, right? So, I’m rushin’ outta my tiny apartment on Zhongshan Rd, tryna grab my coffee. But guess what? No coffee! Just my luck. So, I’m like, “Whatever, I’ll survive.” I hop on my scooter, zoomin’ down the streets. Shimen’s got this vibe, ya know? The mix of old and new. You got the traditional temples like the Cheng Huang Temple, and then boom! Modern cafes poppin’ up everywhere. It’s wild. I hit the main road, and traffic’s a mess. Like, seriously? It’s 8 AM, people! Get it together! I’m stuck behind this old dude on a bicycle. He’s goin’ like 5 mph. I’m yellin’ in my helmet, “C’mon, grandpa! Let’s move it!” But he’s just chillin’, takin’ his sweet time. Finally, I make it to the dairy farm. I’m all pumped to start my shift. But then, the machine malfunctions. Ugh! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I’m tryin’ to fix it, but it’s like wrestling a greased pig. I’m covered in milk and sweat. Not my best look, lemme tell ya. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Chen shows up. He’s always got the best snacks. He pulls out these crazy spicy rice cakes. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” We’re munchin’ and laughin’, and for a sec, I forget about the chaos. But then, the boss walks in. He’s not happy. “What’s goin’ on here?” he barks. I’m like, “Just a little milk party, boss!” Not my brightest moment. He rolls his eyes and storms off. Great. Now I’m in trouble. After that, things get weird. A goat escapes! Yup, you heard me right. This little guy bolts outta the barn, and I’m chasin’ him down the street. We’re runnin’ past the night market on Minzu Rd, and people are just starin’. I’m yellin’, “Get back here, you little rascal!” It’s like a scene from a movie. Finally, I corner him near the old Shimen train station. I’m pantin’, and this lady’s laughin’ at me. “You should’ve just let him go!” she says. I’m like, “Yeah, right! I’m not lettin’ my boss’s goat run wild!” After that fiasco, I head back to the farm, and guess what? The machine’s workin’ again! I’m like, “What the heck?!” I swear, it’s like it knew I was about to lose it. The rest of the day is a blur. I’m milkin’, talkin’ to the cows like they’re my best friends. “You guys are the real MVPs!” I say. They just stare at me, like, “Dude, we’re cows.” By the end of my shift, I’m exhausted but kinda happy. I ride home, takin’ the long way through the park on Jhongjheng Rd. The sunset’s beautiful, and I can’t help but smile. Shimen’s got this charm, ya know? I get home, crash on my couch, and think about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. But hey, that’s life in Shimen. Full of surprises, chaos, and a whole lotta milk. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
