Yo, lemme tell ya about my day in Yilan. Man, it was a rollercoaster, like, for real. I woke up, and the sun was blazin’ through my window on Zhongshan Rd. I was like, “Ugh, not today!” But I had plans, ya know? Gotta hustle. First stop, breakfast at this lil’ joint on Gongyuan Rd. They serve the best scallion pancakes. I mean, I could eat those every day. So crispy, so flaky. I ordered two, and the lady behind the counter was like, “You sure?” I was like, “Girl, you don’t know me!” 😂 After that, I decided to stroll down to Yilan Park. It’s so chill there, with all the trees and the pond. I was just vibin’, listening to some tunes, when BAM! A bunch of kids ran past me, playing tag. I almost got knocked over! Like, chill out, kiddos! But it made me smile, reminded me of simpler times, ya know? Then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. I mean, like, monsoon level. I ducked into a 7-Eleven on Minquan Rd. to wait it out. I grabbed a boba tea, ofc. Can’t go wrong with that! But while I was sippin’, I saw this dude outside, totally soaked, trying to fix his bike. I felt bad for him, but also, I couldn’t help but laugh. Like, bro, why you even tryin’? Once the rain let up, I decided to hit up the Yilan Night Market. It’s a must! The food stalls are insane. I was on a mission for stinky tofu. Yeah, I said it. I love that stuff! But when I got there, the line was like a mile long. I was like, “Seriously? For stinky tofu?” But I waited. Patience, right? While I was waiting, I bumped into an old friend from high school. We hadn’t seen each other in ages! We started catching up, and it was like no time had passed. We laughed about our awkward teenage years. I mean, who doesn’t have those cringe moments? 😂 Finally, I got my stinky tofu. And OMG, it was worth the wait! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I was in heaven. But then, I took a bite, and it was like a flavor explosion. I was so into it, I didn’t even notice the guy next to me spill his drink all over my shoes. I was like, “Dude, really?” But I laughed it off. It’s just shoes, right? As the night went on, I wandered around, checking out all the stalls. There was this guy doing magic tricks. I was like, “No way, how’d he do that?” I mean, I’m a sucker for magic. I even tried to learn a trick once. Spoiler: I failed miserably. 😂 But then, I got a lil’ too adventurous. I tried this weird dessert that looked like a science experiment. It was all colorful and jiggly. I took a bite, and it was... interesting. Let’s just say, I won’t be having that again anytime soon. By the time I left the market, I was exhausted but happy. Yilan had thrown so much at me today. I mean, from breakfast to magic tricks to stinky tofu, it was a wild ride. I walked back to my place, feeling grateful for the chaos. So yeah, that was my day in Yilan. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of craziness. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
