Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a butcher in Belozyorskoye is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinkin’ about the fresh cuts I gotta prep. I live on Shevchenko Street, and lemme tell ya, it’s a wild ride. The roosters are crowin’, cars are honkin’, and my neighbor’s cat is givin’ me the stink eye. I get to the shop, and it’s like a scene from a horror movie. Blood everywhere! Just kidding, but you know what I mean. I’m slicin’ and dicin’, and then boom! My buddy Vasya strolls in. He’s got this wild look in his eyes. “Dude, you won’t believe what happened!” I’m like, “What? Did you finally get a girlfriend?” He laughs, but nah, he tells me about this crazy storm that hit the market on Kirova Street. Like, trees down, stalls flipped over. I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what we need!” So, I’m tryin’ to focus on my work, but my mind’s racing. I’m thinkin’ about the customers. You know how they can be. One minute they’re all smiles, the next they’re complainin’ about the price of pork. I mean, c’mon! It’s not like I’m makin’ it rain over here. Then, outta nowhere, this lady storms in. She’s all frantic, like she just saw a ghost or somethin’. “I need a whole chicken, like, NOW!” I’m like, “Lady, chill! I got you.” But she’s not havin’ it. Turns out, she’s cookin’ for some big family dinner on Lvivska Street. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, who gets that worked up over a chicken? After that, I take a breather outside. Fresh air, finally! But then I see this kid on a bike, zoomin’ down the street. He hits a pothole and goes flying! I’m like, “Oh man, that’s gotta hurt!” But he gets up, brushes himself off, and just laughs. Kids these days, man. Tougher than I was at that age. Back in the shop, I’m back to work. I’m thinkin’ about the old days, when I was just a rookie butcher. Now, I’m the king of the meat counter on Kirova! But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my mom. “You better come over for dinner tonight!” I’m like, “Ma, I’m busy!” But you know how it is. Gotta go. So, I close up shop early. I’m walkin’ home, and the streets are buzzin’. People are out, kids are playin’, and I’m just tryin’ to soak it all in. I pass by the park on Pushkina Street, and there’s this old man feedin’ pigeons. He looks so peaceful. I think, “Man, I need that kinda chill in my life.” Finally, I get to my mom’s place. She’s got this huge spread laid out. I’m talkin’ borscht, varenyky, the works! I sit down, and she starts grillin’ me about my love life. “When you gonna settle down?” I’m like, “Ma, I’m married to my job!” She rolls her eyes, but I can see she’s happy. After dinner, I head back home, and I’m just thinkin’ about the day. It was a mess, but it was my mess. I love this city, the chaos, the people. Belozyorskoye, you’re a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a butcher. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
