Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Bilyayivka is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my gear and head out. I’m cruisin’ down Shevchenka Street, and I swear, the potholes are like craters. I’m dodging ’em like I’m in some kinda video game. Bilyayivka’s got its charm, but those roads? Ugh. Anyway, I finally get to this park near the river. It’s called the Bilyayivka Park, and it’s usually a vibe. But today? Nah, not so much. I’m there, minding my own business, checking out this old oak tree. It’s massive, like, “Hey, I’ve been here since before your grandma was born.” I’m about to start my work when I hear this loud crash. I look over, and some dude just knocked over a whole picnic table. Like, bro, what are you doing? I’m trying to save trees here, not deal with your clumsiness! So, I go over to help. Turns out, it’s a family reunion gone wrong. They’re all yelling in Ukrainian, and I’m just standing there like, “Uh, do you need a hand or what?” They finally calm down, and I help them set it back up. They offer me some homemade borscht as a thank you. I mean, who can say no to borscht? It’s like a hug in a bowl. So, I’m munching on that, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs up to me. He’s like, “Mister, can you climb that tree?” I’m like, “Sure, kid, but I’m not a monkey.” But I climb it anyway. I mean, how can you resist a kid’s enthusiasm? I get up there, and the view is insane! You can see the whole city, the Dniester River glistening in the sun. I’m feelin’ like a king up there. Then, I spot something shiny in the grass below. I’m like, “What’s that?” I climb down, and it’s a freaking old coin! I’m thinking, “This could be worth something!” But then I remember, I’m not a treasure hunter. Just an arborist. So, I pocket it and move on. Next stop, I head over to the corner of Haharina and Kostiantynivska. There’s this sick old birch tree that needs some TLC. I’m all set to start trimming when this lady walks by. She’s got a dog that looks like it just came outta a fashion magazine. Seriously, this pup is strutting like it owns the place. She stops and starts chatting with me about the tree. Turns out, she’s a local historian. We get into this deep convo about Bilyayivka’s history, and I’m like, “Wow, I didn’t know that!” But then, she starts talking about how the city used to be a big deal back in the day. I’m getting all emotional, thinking about how much this place has changed. It’s like, I love this city, but sometimes it feels like it’s forgotten. After that, I’m feeling all inspired, so I decide to take a break. I hit up this little café on the corner of Kirova. They’ve got the best coffee in town. I order a cappuccino, and the barista, this cool dude, gives me a free pastry. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a legend!” But then, as I’m sipping my coffee, I see this guy across the street. He’s trying to parallel park, and it’s a disaster. He’s hitting the curb, then the car behind him. I’m just sitting there, laughing my ass off. Like, come on, man! It’s not that hard! Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m exhausted but happy. I head back home, thinking about all the crazy stuff that happened. Bilyayivka, you wild! You keep me on my toes. I love this city, with all its quirks and surprises. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
