Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Dnipro is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on Sicheslavska Naberezhna, ready to tackle whatever comes my way. I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I get a call about a stray dog on Vokzalna Street. Poor thing was limping like it just lost a dance-off. I rush over, dodging potholes like they’re landmines. Dnipro’s streets are a whole vibe, but man, they need some serious TLC. Anyway, I find this scruffy mutt, and he’s got a stick stuck in his paw. Like, who does that? I mean, come on, buddy! I’m trying to be all gentle, but this dog is having none of it. He’s growling like he’s auditioning for a horror movie. I’m like, “Chill, dude! I’m not here to steal your snacks!” Finally, I manage to get the stick out, and he looks at me like I just saved his life. I’m feeling like a hero, right? But then he bolts. Just my luck! So, I’m chasing this dog down Haharina Street, and I’m yelling, “Come back! I’m not done with you!” People are staring, probably thinking I’m some crazy dog whisperer or something. I finally catch him near the river, and he’s just sitting there, wagging his tail like we’re best buds. I’m like, “Dude, you just made me run a marathon!” After that, I head back to the clinic, and I’m thinking, “Okay, that was wild, but I can handle it.” Nope! I walk in, and there’s a cat fight happening in the waiting room. Two cats, fur flying everywhere. I’m talking full-on WWE smackdown. I’m trying to separate them, and one of them scratches me. Great, just what I needed. I finally get them apart, and the owners are just standing there, laughing. I’m like, “This is not a comedy show, people!” But honestly, I can’t help but chuckle too. Dnipro’s got this weird charm, even in chaos. Then, out of nowhere, a lady rushes in with a parrot. Yes, a parrot! She’s freaking out because it won’t stop squawking. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a parrot. That’s what they do!” But she’s convinced it’s sick. I check it out, and it’s just fine. Just a drama queen, like some people I know. By now, I’m running on caffeine and adrenaline. I grab a quick bite at a café on Yavornytskoho Avenue. The borscht there is to die for, but I barely taste it. I’m too busy thinking about the next emergency. Dnipro’s got this energy, you know? It’s alive, buzzing, and sometimes it feels like I’m in a movie. Back at the clinic, I get a call about a cat stuck in a tree. Classic! I grab my gear and head to the scene. It’s on a street near the Monastyrsky Island. I get there, and there’s a crowd. People are filming it like it’s the next viral sensation. I’m like, “Guys, it’s just a cat!” But they’re all cheering me on. I climb the tree, and the cat is just chilling up there, looking down at me like, “What’s the fuss?” I finally get it down, and the crowd goes wild. I’m feeling like a rockstar, but inside, I’m just a tired vet who wants to go home. Finally, I wrap up my day, and I’m driving back through Dnipro. The sunset over the Dnipro River is stunning. I can’t help but smile. This city, with all its craziness, is my home. It’s wild, unpredictable, and full of surprises. Just like my job. So yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of drama. Just another day in Dnipro, I guess!
