Man, what a day! I woke up in Dubrovytsia, ready to tackle some trees, ya know? But lemme tell ya, it was anything but normal. First off, I hit the road on my way to the lumberyard, cruisin’ down Shevchenka Street. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. So, I’m rollin’ along, and outta nowhere, this cat runs across the street. I slam on the brakes, heart racing. I’m like, “Dude, what’s your problem?” Turns out, it was just a stray. Poor thing looked like it had seen better days. I mean, I get it, Dubrovytsia can be rough sometimes. But c’mon, man, watch where you’re going! Finally, I get to the yard, and my buddy Vasyl is there, grinning like a fool. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s talkin’ about how he saw a bear near the river. I’m like, “Dude, you sure it wasn’t just a big dog?” But he swears it was a bear. I can’t even. We start loading up the truck with logs, and I’m feelin’ good. The smell of fresh pine is in the air, and I’m ready to chop some wood. But then, outta nowhere, this storm rolls in. I mean, it’s like the sky just opened up. Rain’s pouring, and I’m soaked to the bone. I’m standing there, thinking, “Great, just great. This is how I wanted to spend my day.” So, we take cover under this old shed on Kovalivka Street. Vasyl’s still rambling about the bear, and I’m just trying to stay dry. I’m like, “Dude, if that bear shows up, I’m outta here!” But he just laughs. I swear, that guy’s got no fear. After the rain finally lets up, we head back to work. I’m swinging my axe, feeling like a lumberjack superhero. But then, I slip on some mud and go down hard. I’m laying there, covered in muck, and Vasyl’s just dying laughing. I’m like, “Thanks for the support, buddy!” Later, we decide to grab some grub at this little diner on Hrushevskoho Street. Best decision ever. I order a plate of varenyky, and man, they hit the spot. I’m chowing down, and Vasyl’s still going on about that bear. I’m like, “If I see that bear, I’m gonna offer it some varenyky and hope for the best!” After lunch, we head back to the yard, and I’m feeling pumped. But then, I get a call from my sister. She’s freaking out about some drama with her kids. I’m like, “Sis, I’m in the middle of a lumberjack crisis here!” But she doesn’t care. Family first, right? By the time we wrap up, I’m exhausted. I head home, and as I’m driving down the streets of Dubrovytsia, I can’t help but smile. This city, man, it’s got its quirks. From the stray cats to the wild stories, it’s never a dull moment. I crash on the couch, thinking about the day. Yeah, it was crazy. But that’s life, right? Just another day in Dubrovytsia, where the trees are tall, the storms are wild, and the bears… well, who knows? Maybe I’ll see one tomorrow.
