Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a stove-maker in Horodnia is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the market on Shevchenka Street. You know, the one where all the babushkas sell their homemade goodies? I’m just tryna grab some fresh bread for my lunch. But nooo, the line is longer than my grandma’s stories. I’m standing there, tapping my foot, thinking, “C’mon, ladies, I got stoves to make!” Finally, I get my bread, but guess what? It’s stale. Like, how do you mess up bread? I’m fuming, but whatever, I’ll just toast it later. Next, I head to my workshop on Haharina Street. It’s a cozy little spot, filled with the smell of wood and metal. I love it. But today, my tools decided to play hide and seek. I’m searching everywhere for my favorite chisel. I swear, it’s like it grew legs and walked off. I’m cursing under my breath, “Stupid tools, why can’t you just cooperate?” Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Vasyl shows up. He’s got this wild idea to make a stove that can also cook borscht. I’m like, “Dude, are you serious? A borscht stove?” But he’s all hyped up, waving his hands around. I can’t help but laugh. “Next, you’ll tell me it can dance too!” So, we start brainstorming. I’m sketching ideas, and Vasyl’s throwing in crazy suggestions. “What if it has a built-in speaker?” he says. I’m like, “Yeah, because nothing says ‘I love cooking’ like blasting pop music while stirring borscht.” Then, the real drama hits. I get a call from my supplier. He’s stuck in traffic on Kyivska Street. Apparently, a parade broke out. A parade! In the middle of the day! I’m losing my mind. “Dude, I need those materials!” But he’s like, “Sorry, man, I’m stuck.” I’m thinking, “Great, just great. Now I can’t finish these stoves.” Finally, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the park near the river. It’s peaceful there, you know? Kids are playing, couples are walking hand in hand. I sit on a bench, munching on my stale bread. I see this old man feeding pigeons. He’s got this huge smile, and I’m like, “Man, I wish I could be that chill.” But then, I notice a group of teenagers nearby. They’re blasting music and dancing like there’s no tomorrow. I can’t help but chuckle. “What are they, a flash mob?” I think. One of them trips and falls, and I’m laughing so hard, I almost choke on my bread. After my little break, I head back to the workshop. I’m pumped now. I’m ready to tackle the day. I start working on a new stove design. It’s gonna be epic. I’m in the zone, hammering away, when suddenly, the power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m sitting there in the dark, thinking, “What’s next? A meteor shower?” But then, I hear a knock. It’s Vasyl again, this time with a lantern. “I brought snacks!” he says, grinning like a kid. We end up sitting on the floor, eating chips and brainstorming more ideas. “What if we make a stove that can also play music?” I’m rolling my eyes, but I can’t help but smile. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I’ve got a new design, a new idea, and a new appreciation for the chaos of Horodnia. It’s wild, it’s unpredictable, but it’s home. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, stove-making adventure in Horodnia. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
