Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in my tiny apartment on Shevchenka Street, right? The sun was blasting through my window like it was auditioning for a role in a horror movie. I’m like, “Chill, sun! I’m not ready for this!” Anyway, I had this big project due. You know, being a texture artist and all. I was working on this sick game environment, and I needed some fresh inspiration. So, I thought, “Why not hit the streets of Ivano-Frankivsk?” First stop, Vicheva Square. It’s always buzzing with life. I grab a coffee from this little kiosk. The barista, bless her soul, was super chatty. She starts telling me about this new café on Nezalezhnosti Street. Apparently, they have the best pastries. I’m like, “Girl, I’m here for textures, not pastries!” But then she gives me this look, and I’m like, “Fine, I’ll check it out later.” So, I’m wandering around, snapping pics of the old buildings. The architecture here is wild! You got these Soviet-era blocks next to cute little wooden houses. It’s like a mashup of history. I’m feeling inspired, right? But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, biblical rain. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m cursing the weather like it’s my ex. “Why you gotta be like this?” I duck into a shop on Halytska Street. It’s this quirky little place selling all sorts of random stuff. I find this old map of the city. I’m like, “This is gold!” But then the shopkeeper, this grumpy old dude, tells me it’s not for sale. I’m like, “Dude, come on! I’ll trade you my soul!” He just glares at me. So, I leave empty-handed, feeling all dramatic. Next, I head to the park near the river. It’s usually chill, but today? Nah. There’s this group of kids playing soccer, and they’re loud as hell. I’m trying to focus on the textures of the trees, but all I hear is “GOAL!” every five seconds. I’m like, “Can’t a guy work in peace?” But then, something amazing happens. I see this old couple sitting on a bench, holding hands. It’s so sweet, man. I’m like, “Aww, love is real!” It kinda lifts my mood. I snap a pic of them, thinking it’ll inspire some warm textures for my project. After that, I finally make my way to that café on Nezalezhnosti Street. And wow, the pastries? Totally worth it! I grab this cherry strudel that’s like a hug in dessert form. I’m munching away, feeling like a king. But then, I spill coffee all over my sketchbook. I’m like, “Nooooo!” My heart sinks. I rush back home, trying to salvage my sketches. I’m frantically drying them with a hairdryer, praying they don’t look like a watercolor disaster. I’m laughing and crying at the same time. “What a day!” I think. Finally, I sit down to work on my project. I’m exhausted but pumped. Ivano-Frankivsk, you crazy city, you’ve given me a rollercoaster of a day. I’m ready to create something epic. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, rain and pastries, love and grumpy shopkeepers. Just another day in Ivano-Frankivsk, I guess!
