Man, what a day! I swear, Kadiyivka really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a dental tech, so my day usually involves teeth, teeth, and more teeth. But today? Oh boy. I’m cruising down Shevchenka Street, and I see this old lady trying to cross. I’m like, “C’mon, lady, you can do it!” But she’s moving slower than molasses in winter. I’m honking, waving, and she just gives me this look like I’m the devil. I mean, I get it, but I’m just trying to help! Finally, she makes it across, and I’m off to the lab. I get there, and my coworker, Oleg, is already in a mood. He’s ranting about how the coffee machine is broken. Like, dude, it’s not the end of the world! But to him, it is. “How can I work without my coffee?” he says. I’m like, “Bro, you’re a dental tech, not a barista!” So, I start working on this denture for a client. The guy’s name is Vasyl, and he’s a character. He comes in, all excited, and says, “Make me look like a movie star!” I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re in Kadiyivka, not Hollywood.” But whatever, I’m up for the challenge. While I’m shaping these teeth, I hear this loud noise outside. I peek out the window on Kostiantynivska Street, and there’s a parade! A freakin’ parade! I mean, who has a parade on a random Tuesday? Turns out, it’s some local festival. People are dancing, music blasting, and I’m stuck in the lab. Ugh! I finish up Vasyl’s dentures, and he’s thrilled. “I’m gonna be the talk of the town!” he says. I’m like, “Yeah, until you eat something sticky.” But hey, I’m happy for him. Then, I step outside for a breather. The air smells like fresh bread from the bakery down the street. I can’t resist. I grab a loaf, and it’s still warm. Best decision ever! I’m munching away, feeling like a king, when I bump into my buddy, Andriy. He’s all hyped about the parade too. “C’mon, let’s go!” he says. So, we head over to the festivities. The vibe is electric! People are laughing, kids are running around, and I’m just soaking it all in. I even join a dance circle. Yeah, me! The dental tech busting moves like I’m in a music video. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m drenched in seconds. Everyone’s scrambling for cover, and I’m just standing there, laughing like a maniac. “This is Kadiyivka, baby!” I shout. After the rain, the sun comes back out, and it’s like a scene from a movie. The streets are glistening, and people are back to dancing. I’m feeling all kinds of happy. But then, I remember my car is parked on Haharina Street. I sprint over, dodging puddles like I’m in an obstacle course. I get there, and of course, I left the window down. Great. Just great. My seat is soaked. I drive home, exhausted but buzzing from the day. Kadiyivka, you wild city! You’ve got your quirks, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything. I mean, where else can a dental tech have a parade day like this? So, yeah, that was my day. Full of teeth, rain, and unexpected fun. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
