Man, what a day! I swear, being a furrier in Kelmentsi is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the market on Shevchenka Street. You know, the one with all the hustle and bustle? I’m just trying to grab some supplies for my fur work. But nah, the place is packed! I mean, it’s like everyone in Kelmentsi decided to have a shopping spree at the same time. I’m dodging babushkas like I’m in some kind of Olympic event. One lady almost took me out with her shopping cart. I’m like, “Lady, chill! I’m just trying to get some leather here!” Finally, I get my stuff and head back to my workshop on Haharina Street. It’s a cozy little spot, but man, it gets hot in there. I’m sweating like a pig. I start working on this gorgeous mink coat. Seriously, it’s stunning. But then, outta nowhere, my sewing machine decides to throw a tantrum. It jams up, and I’m like, “Are you kidding me right now?” I’m yanking at the thread, cursing under my breath. I swear, that machine has it out for me. After wrestling with that beast, I finally get it working again. Just in time, too, because I had a client coming in. This lady, she walks in, and I swear, she’s got more attitude than a cat on a hot tin roof. She’s all, “I need this done by tomorrow!” I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a magician!” But I smile and nod, trying to keep it professional. Inside, I’m screaming. Then, she starts asking about fur trends. I’m like, “Trends? In Kelmentsi? We just wear what keeps us warm!” But I play along. I mean, who doesn’t love a good gossip about furs, right? We chat about the latest styles, and I’m trying to keep my cool. But honestly, I’m just thinking about how I need a coffee. Bad. So, after she leaves, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the café on Kostiantynivska Street. Best coffee in town, no joke. I grab a cup and sit outside, just soaking in the vibe. The sun’s shining, kids are playing, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t so bad.” But then, I see this guy walking his dog. And not just any dog—a huge, fluffy St. Bernard. I’m talking about a bear on a leash. The dog decides it’s time to take a dump right in front of the café. I’m sipping my coffee, and I almost spit it out. Like, come on, dude! Clean up after your pet! After that little comedy show, I head back to the workshop. I’m back at it, working on that mink coat. I’m in the zone, feeling good. Then, my buddy Oleg pops in. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s telling me about this time he tried to catch a fish in the Dniester River. He ends up falling in! I’m dying laughing. Oleg’s a character, for sure. But then, the day takes a turn. I get a call from a client. They want to cancel their order. I’m like, “Are you serious?” I’ve already put in hours of work! I’m fuming. I mean, come on! You can’t just bail like that! But I take a deep breath. Gotta keep it together, right? As the sun starts to set, I finally wrap up for the day. I’m exhausted but satisfied. I step outside, and the streets of Kelmentsi are lit up. It’s beautiful. I walk home, thinking about all the craziness. This city, man, it’s got its quirks. But it’s home. And even on the wildest days, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another rollercoaster in the life of a furrier in Kelmentsi. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
