Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Kovel, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a violin maker, and I’ve got this workshop on Shevchenka Street. It’s cozy, filled with wood shavings and the sweet smell of varnish. I’m working on this gorgeous Strad copy, and I’m feeling all artsy. But then, boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Vasyl. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the market!” I’m thinking, “Sure, why not?” So I grab my tools and head out. Kovel’s streets are wild, man. You got the old buildings on Lvivska Street, and then you hit the bustling market. It’s like a whole different world. People everywhere, shouting, haggling, and I’m just trying to navigate through the chaos. I get to the market, and Vasyl’s there, looking all smug with a bag of fresh borscht ingredients. I’m like, “Dude, you know I can’t cook, right?” He just laughs and says, “You’ll learn!” Ugh, thanks, buddy. So we’re chatting, and outta nowhere, this old lady bumps into me. I spill my coffee all over my favorite shirt. I’m fuming! Like, come on, lady! Watch where you’re going! But she just smiles and says, “Young man, life’s too short to be mad.” I mean, she’s not wrong, but still! After that, we decide to grab some street food. There’s this vendor on the corner of Kovalivska Street selling the best varenyky. I’m talking heavenly! I stuff my face, and for a moment, all is right in the world. But then, I see this kid with a violin. He’s playing on the street, and it’s beautiful. I’m like, “Man, I wish I could play like that.” But then, I notice his violin is a total wreck. I mean, it looks like it’s been through a war. I can’t help it; I walk over and ask him about it. Turns out, he’s been saving up for a new one. My heart just sinks. I’m like, “Dude, I gotta help this kid.” So I tell him to come by my workshop later. Now, I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, right? But then, I get back to my workshop, and guess what? My tools are missing! Like, seriously? Who steals from a violin maker? I’m livid! I start pacing around, thinking about who could’ve done it. Maybe it was that old lady? Nah, she seemed nice. I finally calm down and decide to work on my Strad copy. I’m in the zone, and then—BAM! A knock on the door. It’s the kid! He’s all excited, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re here!” I show him around, and he’s in awe. I’m feeling like a rockstar. We start working together, and I teach him a few tricks. He’s a quick learner, and I’m just loving it. We’re laughing, joking, and I forget all about my missing tools. It’s like the universe is telling me, “Chill out, man. Life’s about moments like this.” But then, just as we’re getting into it, my phone buzzes again. It’s Vasyl. He’s like, “You won’t believe this, but I found your tools!” I’m like, “What? Where?” Turns out, he saw some shady dude trying to sell them at the market. Classic Kovel, right? I rush over, and sure enough, there’s my stuff! I confront the guy, and he’s all like, “I found them!” I’m like, “Dude, you didn’t find them; you stole them!” It gets a bit heated, but I manage to get my tools back. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I’ve made a new friend, got my tools back, and learned a lesson about not sweating the small stuff. Kovel’s a wild place, but it’s home. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional rollercoaster in Kovel. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
