Man, what a day in Kupiansk! I swear, I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m a refractor, right? So I’m all about those lenses and light tricks. But today? Today was a whole circus. So, I’m chillin’ on Kostiantynivska Street, just minding my own biz, when I see this old lady. She’s trying to cross the street, and let me tell ya, she’s moving slower than molasses in winter. I’m like, “C’mon, babushka, you got this!” But she’s just staring at the traffic like it’s a wild beast. I’m getting all worked up, thinking, “Someone’s gotta help her!” Finally, I rush over, and she looks at me like I’m her knight in shining armor. I mean, I’m just a dude with a refractor, but hey, I’ll take the compliment. After that little adventure, I head over to the market on Shevchenka Street. Man, the hustle there is unreal! Vendors yelling, people bargaining, and the smell of fresh bread wafting through the air. I grab a loaf, and this guy next to me is trying to haggle over a cucumber. Like, dude, it’s a cucumber, not a gold bar! But hey, whatever floats your boat, right? Then, outta nowhere, I bump into my buddy Oleg. He’s got this wild story about how he almost got run over by a tram on Haharina Street. I’m like, “Bro, you gotta pay more attention!” But he just laughs it off, saying he was too busy checking out some cute girl. Classic Oleg. Always chasing after something. So, we decide to grab a drink at this little café on Lermontova Street. It’s cozy, and the coffee is bomb. We’re sitting there, just shooting the breeze, when suddenly the power goes out. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed!” But Oleg, being the jokester he is, starts making shadow puppets on the wall. I can’t help but crack up. Who knew a blackout could be so entertaining? After the lights come back on, we head out to explore more. We stroll down to the river, and it’s beautiful. The sun’s setting, casting this golden glow over everything. I’m feeling all philosophical, like, “Man, life is good.” But then, I see this group of kids throwing rocks into the water. I’m like, “Hey, be careful!” But they just laugh and keep going. Kids, man. They don’t care about anything. As we walk back, I can’t shake this feeling of nostalgia. Kupiansk has this charm, ya know? The old buildings, the narrow streets, the people. It’s like a little slice of home. But then, I remember the news about the recent events in the area. It hits me hard. I get angry thinking about all the chaos and how it affects everyone. It’s like, can’t we just have one peaceful day? Finally, I make my way back to my place, exhausted but happy. I plop down on my couch, and all I can think about is how wild today was. From helping that babushka to laughing with Oleg, it was a rollercoaster. I love this city, even with all its craziness. Kupiansk, you’ve got my heart, quirks and all. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
