Man, what a day! I swear, being a lifeguard in Lyubotyn is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll up to the beach at 9 AM, sun’s blazing, and I’m already sweating like a popsicle in the sun. You know, the usual scene at the Lyubotyn beach—kids screaming, parents yelling, and that one dude blasting music way too loud on Vulytsia Shchorsa. Like, chill bro, we get it, you love techno. First thing I notice? A bunch of kids playing tag near the water. I’m like, “Great, just what I need—mini tornadoes running around.” But then, outta nowhere, I see this kid, Timmy, who’s like 8, trying to impress his friends. He dives in, and I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re gonna drown!” But he’s all good, just splashing around like a little fish. I can’t help but smile. Kids are wild, man. Then, bam! Drama alert! This lady on Vulytsia Kostiantynivska starts freaking out. Her kid, like, totally disappears under the water. My heart drops. I’m sprinting over, yelling, “Where’s your kid?!” She’s pointing, and I dive in like a dolphin. I swear, I’ve never swum so fast in my life. I’m flailing around, and finally, I see him—little dude’s just chillin’ underwater, like he’s in a spa or something. I grab him, pull him up, and he’s like, “That was fun!” I’m like, “Fun? You almost gave me a heart attack!” After that, I’m on high alert. I’m scanning the beach like a hawk. I see some teens on Vulytsia Haharina trying to do backflips off the pier. I’m thinking, “This is gonna end badly.” And guess what? One of them slips and lands right on his butt. The whole beach erupts in laughter. I can’t help but chuckle too. Like, dude, you just became a meme. But then, the mood shifts. This guy, I swear, he’s like a walking disaster. He’s trying to impress his girlfriend, right? He’s showing off, flexing, and then he trips over a beach ball. I’m dying inside. But then, he gets up, brushes it off, and yells, “I meant to do that!” Classic move, bro. Around noon, I take a break. I grab a hot dog from that sketchy stand near the entrance. You know the one—Vulytsia Pivdenna. I’m munching away, and this old dude comes up to me. He’s like, “Back in my day, we didn’t have lifeguards. We just swam!” I’m thinking, “Yeah, and back in your day, you probably didn’t have sunscreen either.” The afternoon rolls in, and it’s packed. I’m sweating buckets, and I’m like, “Why do I even do this?” But then, I see a family having a picnic on the beach. They’re laughing, sharing food, and it hits me. This is why I’m here. To keep these moments safe. But then, outta nowhere, a storm rolls in. Dark clouds, wind picking up. I’m yelling, “Everyone outta the water!” People are looking at me like I’m crazy. But I don’t care. I’m waving my arms like a madman. Finally, they start to listen. I’m herding them like sheep. As the rain starts pouring, I’m soaked, but I feel like a hero. I saved the day! I’m standing there, drenched, and I can’t help but laugh. This is my life. Crazy, chaotic, and totally unpredictable. By the time I clock out, I’m exhausted but happy. I walk home down Vulytsia Kostiantynivska, thinking about all the wild stuff that went down. Lyubotyn, you never fail to surprise me. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
