Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my tiny apartment on Shevchenka Street, right? The sun’s blasting through the window like it’s trying to roast me alive. I’m like, “Ugh, not today!” But ya know, I gotta get up. I’m an archivist, not a vampire. First stop, the archives. It’s on the corner of Haharina and Komsomolska. I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. I get there, and the place is buzzing. Like, what’s going on? Turns out, they’re doing some renovation. Dust everywhere! I’m sneezing like crazy. I mean, c’mon, I just wanna sort through old documents, not audition for a sneeze contest. So, I’m digging through some old files, right? And I find this ancient map of Ochakiv. It’s from like, the 1800s or something. I’m staring at it, and it’s wild! The streets are all different. I mean, where’s my beloved Pivdenna Street? It’s like a ghost town on that map. I’m getting all nostalgic, thinking about the good ol’ days when I could grab a coffee at that cute little café on the corner. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Vasyl bursts in. He’s all hyped up, waving his arms like a madman. “Dude! You won’t believe what I just saw!” I’m like, “What? A unicorn?” He’s like, “Nah, better! A dolphin! In the Dnipro!” I’m thinking, “A dolphin? In Ochakiv? This I gotta see!” So, we ditch the archives and head to the beach. It’s a hot day, and the sea looks inviting. We get there, and there’s a crowd. Everyone’s pointing and gasping. I’m like, “What’s the deal?” And then I see it. A freakin’ dolphin! Just chillin’ in the water, doing flips like it’s in SeaWorld or something. I’m losing my mind! But then, the mood shifts. Some dude starts yelling at the dolphin. “Get outta here! You don’t belong!” I’m like, “Bro, chill! It’s a dolphin, not a stray cat!” People are getting riled up. I’m ready to throw down. Like, who yells at a dolphin? After the dolphin drama, we decide to grab some food. We hit up this little joint on Myru Street. Best borscht in town, no joke. I’m slurping it down, and Vasyl’s telling me about his latest conspiracy theory. Something about aliens and the old fort in Ochakiv. I’m just nodding, half-listening, thinking about how I need to get back to work. But then, I get a text. It’s from my boss. “We need those documents ASAP!” I’m like, “Seriously? I’m out here saving dolphins!” But I can’t ignore it. So, we rush back to the archives. When we get there, it’s chaos. Papers everywhere! I’m freaking out. I can’t find the map I was working on. I’m digging through piles, and I’m like, “Where is it?!” Finally, I spot it under a stack of old newspapers. I grab it, and I’m like, “YES!” But then, I trip over a box. Papers fly everywhere. I’m on the floor, surrounded by a tornado of documents. Vasyl’s laughing his head off. “You okay, archivist?” I’m like, “Yeah, just living my best life!” Finally, I get everything sorted. I send it off to my boss, and I’m done. I step outside, and the sun’s setting over the Dnipro. It’s beautiful. I take a deep breath, and I’m like, “What a day.” So, yeah, that was my day in Ochakiv. Full of dolphins, drama, and a whole lotta dust. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
