Man, what a day! I swear, Savran really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to rush to the community center on Shevchenka Street. You know, the one where they always have those random events? Yeah, that place. I get there, and it’s packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I’m talking about a full-on crowd. I’m trying to find my client, and I’m like, “Yo, where you at?” Finally spot them, and they’re all stressed. Apparently, they were supposed to give a speech about some local initiative. But guess what? The mic’s broken! Classic Savran, right? I mean, can’t we get one decent mic? So, I’m signing like a madman, trying to keep up with their emotions. They’re passionate, and I’m just there like, “Please, don’t cry. I can’t handle tears today!” Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs in. I swear, he’s like a mini tornado. He’s yelling about a cat stuck in a tree on Haharina Street. I’m thinking, “Really? A cat? Right now?” But the crowd’s all about it. So, I’m signing, “We gotta save the cat!” and everyone’s hyped. We all rush outside, and there’s this poor cat, just chilling on a branch. I’m like, “Dude, you’re not even trying to get down!” But the crowd’s cheering, and I’m signing like I’m in a sports event. “Go, kitty, go!” Finally, some brave soul climbs up and rescues the cat. Everyone’s clapping, and I’m just standing there, thinking, “What just happened?” Like, did I just interpret a cat rescue? Only in Savran, man. After that, I had to dash to the school on Kostiantynivska Street. They were having a talent show, and I was supposed to interpret for a group of kids. I get there, and it’s chaos. Kids are running everywhere, and I’m just trying to find my group. When I finally do, they’re all nervous. I mean, who wouldn’t be? But then they start performing, and it’s like magic. One kid does this insane dance, and I’m signing along, trying to keep up. I’m laughing so hard, I almost forget to sign! But then, out of nowhere, the power goes out. Like, seriously? In the middle of a talent show? The kids freak out, and I’m just standing there, thinking, “This is it. This is how I die.” But then, someone pulls out a flashlight, and we’re all like, “Let’s keep going!” So, we finish the show in the dark, and it’s honestly one of the best moments ever. Everyone’s cheering, and I’m just there, feeling all the feels. By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted. I head to my favorite café on Soborna Street. I need a coffee, like, yesterday. I sit down, and the barista knows my order. “One double espresso, right?” I’m like, “You know me too well!” As I sip my coffee, I can’t help but think about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. But that’s Savran for you. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, it throws you a curveball. I head home, and I’m just grateful. Grateful for the people, the moments, and the craziness. Because at the end of the day, that’s what makes this city feel like home.
