Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Solotvyno, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I grab my coffee from that little spot on Haharina Street. You know the one? The barista there is a legend. She knows my order by heart. I’m like, “Just a regular, please.” And she’s like, “You mean your ‘extra shot of caffeine to survive the day’?” LOL, she gets me. So, I’m feeling good, right? I head to the community center on Shevchenka Street. I’m there to translate for this event. It’s a gathering for the deaf community. Super important stuff. But, of course, the organizers are running late. Classic. I’m standing there, looking at my watch, thinking, “C’mon, people!” Finally, they show up, and it’s chaos. They’re all talking over each other, and I’m like, “Guys, chill! I can’t translate if you’re all yelling!” But no one listens. I’m trying to keep up, and my hands are flying everywhere. It’s like a dance party, but with more stress and less music. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs in. He’s got a balloon, right? And he trips. The balloon goes flying, and I’m like, “Nooooo!” It pops, and the whole room goes silent. Everyone’s staring at me, and I’m just standing there, hands frozen mid-gesture. I mean, what do you even do in that moment? I just burst out laughing. It was too ridiculous. After that, things got a bit better. We had some great discussions about accessibility in Solotvyno. People were passionate, and I was feeling the vibe. But then, someone brought up the lack of sign language interpreters in schools. Ugh, that made me mad. Like, c’mon! It’s 2023! We need to do better! By the time we wrapped up, I was exhausted. I stepped outside, and the air was fresh. I walked down to the park by the river. You know, the one near the old wooden bridge? It’s my favorite spot. I sat there for a bit, just breathing. But then, guess what? I see this group of kids playing soccer. They’re having a blast, and I’m like, “Man, I miss those days.” So, I join in. I’m not great, but who cares? We’re laughing, and I’m trying to keep up. I even scored a goal! Well, kinda. It was more like the ball accidentally hit the net while I was flailing. But hey, a goal’s a goal, right? As the sun started to set, I walked back home. The streets were lit up, and Solotvyno looked beautiful. I passed by the market on the corner of Kostiantynivska Street. The smell of fresh bread hit me, and I couldn’t resist. I grabbed a loaf and some pastries. Treat yo’ self, am I right? Finally, I got home, totally wiped out. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade that day for anything. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Just another day in Solotvyno, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
