Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a radio operator in Starokostyantyniv is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my coffee from that little spot on Shevchenka Street. You know the one? The barista there, Oksana, she’s a legend. She knows my order by heart. I’m like, “Just gimme the usual, Oksana.” And she’s like, “You mean the ‘I need caffeine to survive’ special?” Haha, love her. So, I’m sippin’ my coffee, feeling all good, when BOOM! My radio starts crackling. It’s my buddy Vasyl on the other end. He’s all panicked, like he just saw a ghost or something. “Dude, you won’t believe this! There’s a cow on the loose on Hrushevskoho Street!” I’m like, “A cow? Seriously?” I mean, come on! A cow? In the middle of the city? Only in Starokostyantyniv, right? So, I rush over there, and sure enough, there’s this massive cow just chillin’ in the middle of the street, mooing like it owns the place. Cars are honking, people are laughing, and I’m just standing there, shaking my head. I grab my radio, trying to keep it together. “Vasyl, you better get some help. This ain’t a petting zoo!” But he’s too busy trying to coax the cow with a sandwich. A SANDWICH! I can’t even. After a solid 30 minutes of chaos, we finally get the cow back to its owner. Turns out, it was just a neighbor’s pet. Who knew? I’m still laughing about it. But then, just when I think the day can’t get crazier, I get a call about a fire on Lvivska Street. I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” So, I rush over there, and it’s not even a big deal. Just some guy burning leaves. I mean, come on! I thought it was a full-on inferno. I’m sweating bullets for nothing. But then, as I’m walking back, I see this little kid selling lemonade on the corner of Tsentralna Street. He’s got this huge smile, and I can’t help but stop. I buy a cup, and it’s the best lemonade I’ve ever had. I’m like, “Kid, you should open a shop!” He just grins and says, “Nah, I just like making people happy.” That hit me right in the feels, ya know? In a world full of chaos, this kid’s just out here spreading joy. I’m thinking, “Man, if only adults could be that simple.” So, I finally get back to the station, and I’m exhausted. I plop down in my chair, and my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Dima. He’s like, “You won’t believe what happened today!” I’m like, “Dude, I’ve had enough surprises for one day.” But he goes on about how he saw a couple getting engaged by the river. I’m like, “Aww, that’s sweet.” But then he adds, “And they dropped the ring in the water!” I can’t even. By the end of the day, I’m just sitting there, reflecting on all the madness. Starokostyantyniv is wild, man. It’s got its quirks, its surprises, and its moments that make you laugh and cry all at once. I love this city, even with its crazy cows and fire hazards. It’s home, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a radio operator, right?
