Man, what a day! I swear, Velyka-Berezovytsya really knows how to throw a curveball. I’m just a simple forester, right? Trees, birds, and all that jazz. But today? Pffft, it was like a wild rollercoaster ride through the city! So, I roll into town early, like 7 AM early. The sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about my coffee fix. I hit up that little café on Shevchenka Street. You know the one? The one with the weirdly awesome pastries? Yeah, that place. I grab a coffee and a “pampushka” (those garlic rolls, man, they’re life). I’m feeling good, right? But then, boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Taras. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the park!” I’m like, “What park?” Turns out, he’s at the park near the river, the one by the bridge on Hrushevskoho Street. I’m thinking, “What’s so special?” But hey, friends are friends, so I hustle over. When I get there, I see a crowd. Like, a legit crowd. Turns out, they’re having some kind of festival. Food stalls everywhere, music blasting, people dancing. I’m like, “What the heck? I just wanted to chill!” But then I smell the grilled meat. Oh man, I’m suddenly all in. I grab a shashlik, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munching away, and then I see this kid trying to juggle. He’s dropping balls left and right, and I’m cracking up. I mean, come on, kid! But he’s got spirit, so I cheer him on. “You got this, champ!” He looks at me like I’m a weirdo, but whatever. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts yelling. She’s on the other side of the park, waving her arms like she’s conducting an orchestra. Turns out, she’s mad about some guy who parked his car on the grass. I’m like, “Lady, chill! It’s just a car!” But she’s not having it. She’s going off about how the grass needs love too. I’m dying laughing. But then, my day takes a turn. I’m walking back to my car, and I see this stray dog. Poor thing looks like it’s seen better days. I’m a sucker for animals, so I kneel down to pet it. And guess what? It starts following me! I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” But it’s too late. I’m now the proud owner of a stray dog. I name him “Berezka” after the city. Cute, right? But then, I realize I have no idea how to take care of a dog. I’m a forester, not a dog whisperer! So, I’m googling “how to feed a stray dog” while walking down Velyka Street. People are looking at me like I’m nuts. Finally, I get to my car, and I’m like, “Okay, what now?” I can’t just leave Berezka. So, I take him home. My place is a mess, but I figure we’ll figure it out. I throw some food in a bowl, and he’s all over it. I’m just sitting there, watching this little guy chow down, and I’m thinking, “What have I gotten myself into?” By the time I crash on my couch, I’m exhausted. But you know what? I’m happy. Velyka-Berezovytsya threw me a wild day, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve got a new buddy, a story to tell, and a belly full of shashlik. Who knew a simple day could turn into an adventure? So yeah, that’s my day. Just another day in Velyka-Berezovytsya, where the unexpected is the norm, and stray dogs become family. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
