Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Velyka-Lepetykha, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local market on Shevchenka Street. You know, the one with all the fresh veggies and that one old lady who always tries to sell me her “secret” borscht recipe. Like, lady, I’m not here for your life story! But I gotta admit, her beets are bomb. I grab a few, and she’s like, “You’ll make the best borscht!” I’m like, “Yeah, sure, if I don’t burn down my kitchen first.” Then, I’m walking down the street, and outta nowhere, this stray dog starts following me. I name him “Borscht” because why not? He’s got this scruffy fur and these big ol’ eyes. I’m thinking, “Great, now I’m a dog dad.” But Borscht is chill, just trotting along, sniffing everything. I decide to hit up the park near the river. It’s called the Velyka Lepetykha River Park or something fancy like that. I plop down on a bench, and Borscht flops next to me. I’m scrolling through my phone, and suddenly, I see a post about a local festival happening today. I’m like, “What? Why didn’t I know about this?” So, I grab Borscht, and we hustle over to the festival. It’s on the main square, you know, where they have that big fountain? The vibe is lit! There’s music, food stalls, and people everywhere. I’m feeling the energy, man. I get a plate of varenyky, and they’re so good I almost cry. Like, who knew dough and potatoes could bring so much joy? But then, outta nowhere, this guy bumps into me. I spill my varenyky all over the ground. I’m like, “Dude, seriously?” He just shrugs and walks away. I’m fuming! I mean, come on! I just wanted to enjoy my food! So, I’m standing there, contemplating life, when I see a dance-off starting. I’m like, “This is my moment!” I jump in, and Borscht is barking like he’s my hype man. I’m busting out my best moves, and people are cheering. I feel like a superstar! But then, I trip. Yup, right on my face. The crowd goes silent for a sec, and I’m just lying there, face down. I can’t even. But then, Borscht comes over and starts licking my face. Everyone starts laughing, and I’m like, “Okay, I guess I’m a comedy act now.” After that, I just roll with it. I get up, laugh it off, and join the crowd again. We’re all dancing, and I’m feeling the love. Velyka-Lepetykha is wild, man! As the sun sets, I’m sitting on the steps of the fountain, Borscht by my side, and I’m just soaking it all in. The lights are twinkling, and the music is playing. I think about how crazy today was. From market mishaps to dance-offs, it’s all part of the adventure. I look at Borscht, and I’m like, “You know what? This city is something else.” And he just wags his tail, like he gets it. So yeah, that was my day in Velyka-Lepetykha. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
