Man, what a day! I swear, Velyka-Novosilka really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. Boy, was I wrong! First off, I hit the streets of Velyka-Novosilka, and let me tell ya, the vibe was off. I mean, I love this place, but sometimes it feels like the universe is just messing with us. I was cruising down Shevchenka Street, and boom! A cat just darts out in front of me. Like, seriously? I almost swerved into a pothole. Thanks, Velyka-Novosilka, for the morning adrenaline rush! So, I get to the office, right? And my team is already buzzing. They’re all like, “Did you hear about the market on Haharina Street?” Apparently, some dude set up a pop-up stand selling homemade pierogi. I mean, who doesn’t love pierogi? But then I find out he’s charging like 50 UAH for three. I’m like, “Bro, are these made of gold?” Anyway, I’m trying to keep my cool, but my stomach is growling louder than a tractor on a Sunday. So, I decide to take a break and head over there. The market was packed! I’m dodging babushkas left and right. They’re fierce, man. One almost elbowed me for the last potato pierogi. I was like, “Chill, lady! I just want some carbs!” After I finally snagged my pierogi, I head back to the office, and guess what? My boss calls an emergency meeting. Ugh! I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, we’re getting a surprise inspection. Great. Just what I needed. I’m sweating bullets. So, we’re all scrambling around, trying to make everything look perfect. I’m running down Kostiantynivska Street, grabbing supplies like a madman. I’m talking paper, pens, you name it. I even bumped into my neighbor, Oleg. He’s like, “What’s the rush?” I’m like, “Dude, we’re about to get inspected!” He just laughs and says, “Good luck with that!” Thanks, Oleg. Real supportive. Finally, the inspectors show up. They’re all serious, looking like they just walked out of a horror movie. I’m trying to keep it together, but inside, I’m a mess. They start asking questions, and I’m just praying I don’t trip over my words. Then, outta nowhere, one of them asks about our community outreach program. I’m like, “Uh, yeah, we do stuff.” Not my best moment. But then, I remember we actually did a clean-up on the riverbank last month. I start talking about it, and suddenly, they’re interested! I’m like, “Wait, what? You actually care?” After the meeting, I’m feeling kinda pumped. We might’ve actually impressed them! I head out to grab a coffee on Velyka Street, and I’m just vibing. The sun’s shining, and I’m thinking, “Maybe today isn’t so bad after all.” But then, I see a group of kids playing football in the park. They’re having a blast, but then one of them kicks the ball too hard, and it lands right in a puddle. I’m like, “Oh no, not the puddle!” But the kid just laughs and jumps in. Classic Velyka-Novosilka moment. Kids here know how to have fun, even when life throws mud at them. As the day winds down, I’m walking back home, and I can’t help but smile. Velyka-Novosilka, with all its quirks and chaos, is my home. Sure, it’s wild, and sometimes it drives me nuts, but it’s also full of surprises. Just like today. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of pierogi, panic, and a little bit of joy. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
