Man, what a day! I swear, being a gardener in Yenakiieve is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head down to my favorite spot, the park on Shchorsa Street. You know, the one with those weird statues? Yeah, those. I’m just minding my own biz, pruning some roses, when this old dude starts yelling at me. Like, seriously, dude? I’m just trying to make the world a little prettier. He’s all like, “You’re ruining my view!” I’m like, “Bro, it’s a rose bush, not a skyscraper!” Anyway, I brush it off. I mean, who doesn’t love a good rose, right? But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and BAM! Right into my freshly planted petunias. I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” The kid just laughs and runs off. I’m fuming, but hey, it’s just flowers, right? So, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the local café on Komsomolskaya Street. Best coffee in town, no joke. I grab a cup, and guess what? The barista spills it all over me! I’m drenched in coffee, looking like a walking espresso. I can’t even be mad. I just laugh it off. “Guess I’m caffeinated now!” After that, I head over to the market on Gagarina Street. Man, the hustle and bustle there is insane! Fresh veggies, fruits, and all that good stuff. I’m chatting with Babushka Nadiya, who always has the best tomatoes. She’s telling me about her garden, and I’m like, “Nadiya, you’re the real MVP!” But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a cucumber. A cucumber! Like, dude, it’s not gold! So, I’m walking back, feeling a bit better, when I spot this stray dog. Poor thing looks like it’s seen better days. I can’t help it; I’m a sucker for animals. I give it some of my lunch, and it’s like I just handed it a steak. Tail wagging, eyes sparkling. That made my day, for real. But then, as I’m heading home, I trip over a crack in the sidewalk on Lenin Street. Classic! I’m sprawled out, looking like a fool. A couple of kids laugh, and I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!” But inside, I’m just thinking, “Why can’t sidewalks be smooth?” Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I plop down on my couch, and I’m like, “What a day!” I think about all the craziness. The yelling, the coffee shower, the dog, and the kid with the soccer ball. It’s wild how one day can be a mix of chaos and joy. So, yeah, that’s my life as a gardener in Yenakiieve. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of madness. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
