OMG, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wild. Like, I thought I was just gonna chill with the kids, maybe watch some cartoons, but nah, Caldicot had other plans for me. First off, I get to the house on Mill Lane, and the kids are already bouncing off the walls. I mean, it’s like they had a sugar rush or something. I’m talking about two little tornadoes, right? They’re running around, screaming, and I’m just standing there like, “What have I gotten myself into?” So, I try to calm them down. I’m like, “Hey, let’s play a game!” But they’re not having it. They wanna go outside. And I’m like, “Fine, let’s hit the park.” We head over to the Caldicot Castle grounds. It’s a beautiful spot, but man, it’s like a jungle gym for kids. We get there, and the kids are off like rockets. I’m just trying to keep up. I’m sweating like a pig, and they’re climbing everything. I’m thinking, “What if they fall? What if I lose one?” Total panic mode. But then, they start playing tag, and I’m like, “Okay, I can do this.” Suddenly, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I look up, and it’s sunny one minute, then BAM! Rain. The kids are laughing, running around in the puddles, and I’m just standing there, soaked. I’m like, “Great, just great.” But then, I see their faces, and I can’t help but laugh too. After the rain, we head back to the house on Mill Lane, and I’m thinking, “Okay, let’s do some arts and crafts.” I pull out the glitter, glue, and paper. Big mistake. Glitter is like the herpes of the craft world. It gets everywhere! I’m finding it in my hair, my clothes, even my snacks later. Ugh! Then, the doorbell rings. It’s the neighbor, Mrs. Jenkins. She’s this sweet old lady who always brings cookies. I’m like, “Yes, please!” But then, she sees the mess. Glitter everywhere, kids covered in paint. She raises an eyebrow, and I’m like, “It’s a creative explosion!” She just chuckles and hands me the cookies. Bless her heart. After that, we decide to watch a movie. I put on some animated flick, and the kids are glued to the screen. Finally, some peace! But then, one of them spills juice all over the couch. I’m like, “Nooooo!” I’m scrubbing it like a madwoman, thinking, “Why do I do this?” But then, they start giggling again, and I can’t stay mad. As the day winds down, I’m exhausted. I’m sitting on the floor, surrounded by toys, glitter, and half-eaten cookies. The kids are finally winding down, and I’m just thinking about how crazy today was. Caldicot is such a cute little town, but man, it can throw you for a loop. I mean, who knew babysitting could be this intense? I’m ready to crash, but I can’t help but smile. These kids, this day, it was all a bit mad, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in Caldicot, right?
